Well is 12:29 am 10/10/12 my surgery went great and I feel good. Best advice I can give is to get up and walk as soon as they will let you. And keep asking them to let you walk. Next thing follow your pre-op diet Dr said my liver looked great and made things easier on him.

I'm 5 days post Op and I feel pretty good. Walking helps alot and Protein Shakes give you energy. It was a little difficult getting 1oz down every 15 min at first but now its a lot easier almost normal. Once the swelling and healing take place you have alot easier of a time doing everything. Gas x and prilosec are real helpful. Bottom line Water, Protein and walk.

Sue jersey- how was your cruise?? Ours was awesome, of course.

The cruise was wonderful. Carnival is a great cruise line, super weather, good food, lots of time with my family. Awesome!

Glad yours was great!

All set for surgery? I JUST NOW got my approval....surgery is tomorrow...talk about down to the wire. Started my first Protein Drink and waiting to hear from the hospital what time to be in tomorrow.

This is what will get me through the next couple of weeks:

"Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the LORD, have spoken!'"

Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing.

Wow! That IS down to the wire!!! Best of luck tomorrow. I'll be praying for your safe surgery & speedy recovery, and for the surgeon & assistants.

I've been doing well. Down about 10lbs since starting my pre-op diet. Monday can't come soon enough!! I'll join you on the loser's bench next week!!

Finally got my approval TODAY...surgery is TOMORROW. Talk about under the gun! Started my liquid diet for the day, waiting to hear from the hospital what time to be there tomorrow. Excited, nervous (a little) just want to get it over with.

Good luck to all the other 11'ers as well as those still waiting. And congratulations to all the other October sleevers who have already started down the path! Glad to share the experience with you!

I was calling every day.....so glad that I didn't have to change my date.

Congratulations on the weight loss with the pre-op, especially after the cruise! I got lucky that I only had to do one day before surgery of liquid diet. So no weight loss here but I am sooooo ready.

Looking forward to hearing from you after your sleeve!

I'm an October looser also. I'm scheduled for sleeve 10/23. Started my liquid (only) pre op Protein Shake diet two days ago. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The cravings are there, but no hunger :) I cheated by adding a banana to my shake yesterday morning, but if that's the worst I do I'm pretty proud of myself. Anyone else from DFW/Dr Kim? He's pretty great thus far.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
