Just wondering how many calories everyone is consuming after about a year out or more. I know we tend to go more by meal size, but just wondering the average everyone takes in.

It also depends on when you hit goal, once the body "calms down" from hyper active weight loss and settles into maintenance you will have different caloric needs. At one year out I was not at goal yet and so was still eating 800 cals a day, >30 grams carbs, <70 grams Protein.< /p>

I'm 19 months post-op and eating 1200-1400 calories a day. That seems to keep me in a one-pound range of my maintenance weight.

I'll be two years out this month. I average around 1500 a day I probably burn around 400 a day with exercise.

My doc told me 800 was good during losing phase then 1200-1500 during maintence phase.

I was a year out July 20th and I'm consuming about 800 calories a day, but I need to up them because I find myself getting hungrier between my "meals" (5 a day). I have been maintaining since about April...not by choice. haha. I will say I haven't been as strict as I was the first 8 months or so. I'm about 10 pounds from my original goal, but I'm definitely happy where I am today. (103 pounds lost, from 264 to 161)

Have you spoken to your nutritionist? They should be guiding you thru these changes. The one constant thing I see on this forum is that everyone's diets are different. There is an average that seems normal but your calorie intake has to do with your height, goal weight, activity level not what others are. Congratulations on the weight lose to date, has to feel pretty awesome to now be in the "I just need to lose 10 pounds" catagory, never been there excited to get there myself :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
