After having the sleeve have any of yall went to a nice restaurant and ordered a small meal or an appetizer and of course you can't finish it all and ask for a doggy bag?

I feel guilty because the chef actually asked me if everything was okay when we went out to dinner the other day. I am sure that he assumed that I am a big girl and can EAT! I think he thought that I didn't like the food, it was very tasty but as we all know, I couldn't finish it.

Has anyone else has this feeling of guilt?

If so, how do you handle the situation? Do you let them know that you've had surgery and that there is no way that you can eat it all?

I have experienced this, but haven't felt guilty about it. I just tell them I had something to eat not too long before I came or that im not feeling too well. Now what does irritate me is wait staff that keeps trying to take my plate! I always have to tell them I eat slow and I'll let them know when I'm finished.

No guilt whatsoever. At times I give them a headsup to bring the dogie bag when they bring my meal because I will not finish it. When, or if they ask why I tell them I'm on a diet. Now, if I'm ordering from the child's menu I present my surgery card.

They just want to please you, but since we have changed our eatting habits in my opinion I try not to get bent out of shape with them. They are doing what they've always done and it's up to me to educate them about my change.

I feel guilty sometimes, but I am learning to get over it. When they come back to the table and I haven't eaten most of my meal, I pre-empt them to say everything was delicious, I am just not very hungry, may I please have a to-go box? If I only order an appetizer or just share with my husband (since I still eat such a tiny amount at 8 weeks) I add a few dollars to the tip. I think that is the former waitress in me...

I do feel guilty sometimes, but I'll get over it, I guess. I also do what traceyinflorida does, I tip extra - as though I have ordered a meal.

I wouldn't feel guilty, and I most certainly would not offer any explanation for requesting a doggie bag.

If I was asked "is everything okay?" I'd just say "wonderful, thanks!" and not go any further.

If they pressed and said "you didn't eat much" or "you barely touched it" I'd just look at them and say something like "That's right, and now I'd like a doggie bag, thank you."

End of story!

You could always let them know that you enjoyed it and will get the pleasure of enjoying it again for another meal at home.

Why feel guilty? It's not like you're saying it's good when it's not or something like that. You're taking it home to enjoy later. Maybe ask for a container when you order so as soon as you get your food, you can box most of it up and set it on another chair or on the bench w/your purse, then all they see is a [nearly] empty plate when they start clearing the table. Besides you are paying them for a service = no guilt!

I always order soup...well I've only been to a restaurant thrice since surgery: Olive Garden, Pappasitos and Chachos.

I moved to Canada over a year ago from Texas...and oh how I miss Pappasito's NOM

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
