So Im 4 weeks post-op today and I was doing great in the beginning numbers kept going down and down. Long story short when I was 3 weeks post-op last week I was at 206 and surgery day I was 226 so I was very happy that in 3 weeks I had lost 20 pounds ;) BUT!! I got my period and I gained 3 pounds so Im at 209 again and I've had my period for 8 days non-stop like what is going on? Before surgery I was very regular and by day 4 PERIOD WAS GONE. ughhhhh Im sad that I gained 3 pounds and that I've had my period for 8 days and who knows when its gonna stop. anyways thanks for reading ladies hope someone can help me out and let me know if some of you when through this too.

While I haven't been sleeved yet, I read some other posts that your period gets all outta whack for a few months after surgery. The reason being you're losing weight, and as you lose, all of those stored up hormones in the fat are being released. Some girls reported having a period sometimes 2 weeks after just having one, with varying lengths each time. I think I read these posts under "The powder Room" in Forums.

I'm sure it's the most unpleasant thing because you are still trying to heal and adjust to everything, but hopefully it will be over soon! Yuck! I think we all hate our period!

The blood thinners can affect your period, also the hormones you are releasing.

Having surgery can do a lot to your TOM. Think of all the hormones that are stored in fat. So for it to last longer than normal happens often. Or make it come early. Or late, in my case. Plus while TOM visits, you hold Water weight. It will go. Just be patient.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
