Congratulations on scheduling your surgery! I haven't scheduled mine yet, I'm still researching surgeons and trying to convince everyone that going to Mexico is a good idea! :) I haven't read to much on Dr. Lopez yet. I will check him out for sure though!

Thank you! I did a lot of research..... And, there is a $4500 summer special!!!! When I found that out, I felt like it was a sign for me to go ahead , and do it! Since having my 2 year old, I never do anything for myself. I use to be in great shape. But, the pregnancy , and a desk job for two years before that, took a hard toll on me. I can't wait to feel good about myself again! Let me know if you want more info... I'll give you my patient coordinator's email. I LOVE her, and trust her. She has been through a procedure in TJ, which helped me to feel at ease. I've been reading so much information , as well as reading many , many, many forums. I'm not telling my friends or family. I know they would flip out, about the procedure, and because it's in Mexico.... And, because I have a lower BMI than most who get the procedure, I know I'd hear a lot of criticism from friends and family. Getting nervous, but looking forward to feeling pretty, attractive again...

Oregon.... No, not as nervous about going alone, as I am about leaving my child with my Hubby while I'm gone... I've never been away from my baby. : ( Going to try not to cry when I go. Trying to focus on me being healthier and happier after I've lost the weight. I'll be a better Mommy, more willing to go outside and play ,etc.... I feel very good about the procedure.

Check out " A Lighter Me". One big thing that I like about them is that the procedure is at actual hospital. They weren't pushy with me, trying to get me to commit. They were patient with all my tons of questions, and I could tell they cared. Was nice talking to people who have been there , and who have had procedure themselves.

I am 22 days post op today. I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia and I went through A Lighter Me. I think Dr. Lopez and Dr. Garcia may be like partners. I think Dr. Garcia trained under Dr. Lopez. I remember seeing Dr. Lopez in the hallway. I had a very good experience at the Mi hospital. The care was phenomenal. If I needed anything, they were very attentive. One you are discharged MAKE SURE the patient coordinators, Melly or Rosie are contacting you every few hours and checking on you since you will be alone. I am assuming you will stay at the Marriott and you will love it. The broth is to die for (if u could die for broth, lol). Walk walk walk. I went down by the pool and walked a lot.

If you have any questions or concerns before, during or after surgery just ask away. Private message me if you want....I would love to be able to help. I just cannot emphasize enough though that you make sure you are being checked on. I had a companion, so I felt like I was checked on adequately. You will be fine and do great. Take an iPad laptop or something with wifi because they have wifi at the hospital and I communicated a lot by email. Check into international calling with your mobile carrier.

God Bless and Good Luck!

You will be so happy with your decision.

~Michelle

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
