Why did you have to go back to liquids?

Trust me it must be better than what I had constipation!! I didn't go for over a week after surgery.

Omg I remember that for the first few days until I went and got some strawberry Fiber gummies from cvs and that started helping a bit.

I had surgery July 2nd. The same happened to me. My Dr. Told me to take 1/2 of an Imodium. I'm still having to take it almost daily!

I'm in the same boat as sil222. I was constipated for almost 2 weeks after surgery. It was horrible. My surgeon suggested taking fiber so I started taking the gummies every other day and that did the trick! :)

Why did you have to go back to liquids?

Eating anything resembling real food causes pain in my chest and throat. Not sure

if Im just not chewing enough or what. I know its way too hard to make 3 oz of food last 20 minutes ~ At least with liquids ( Soups, smoothies, etc) I dont have to watch the clock. I just fixed dumplings and I didn't have much of a problem but still could not make it last 20 min.

You know something has gone terribly wrong in your life when getting to eat "mushies" and "slushies" is something to look forward to...LOL

Before you know it your current problem will be gone .... "water under the bridge" as they say.... Okay, bad cliche. But you get my drift.

Each stage seems an eternity, but each one passes before you know it. I got to eat real, non-blendered beef today. Of course it was "pot roasted" to oblivion, but was not technically put in a blender, so I am still celebrating. You will be too soon.

what did the doc say? Will this get better? I'm so sorry you are having complications.

He didnt say it would get better. He just said sliw down. Any slower and my food will mildew before I finish. I think the pain isnt worth the food right now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
