My doc has prescribed Brufen in suspension, and it is an NSAID. this freaks me out a little having seen many of you post that you are absolutely not allowed these. Anyone else in my boat?

My PCP, surgeon, and bariatric doc at Kaiser told us no NSAIDS period. Even with a heal spur I was told no. So I take tylenol. :)

we never use them on gastric by pass pts, but heard several sleeve docs say they are okay for sleeves once completely healed?? but they are known to cause increased acid production.

Was this your surgeon that prescribed it? If so then I would trust that he knows what he is doing.

Wow! Once again, I heard much different than most... For a year I've been taking 500 mg of Naproxen daily because I have a torn meniscus. (Orthopedic said it wasn't surgical yet and because of my weight wouldn't do much good anyway- part of the reason for my sleeve.) Surgeon's office told me to stop it one week before surgery, which I did. I asked the surgeon post-op what to do because my knee was getting sore again (which means limited walking). He told me at day 1 post-op I could resume it! He just advised to take OTC instead of my prescription because the pill is so large. However, I've only taken it maybe 2 days since surgery. Once I start working out and not just leisurely walking I will probably have to go back on it.

Thanks for all the replies, yes it was prescribed by my surgeon to take at home after being on pethidine shots in hospital for pain. I wasquite nervous taking it last night, but no ill effects so far and this morning I took my PPI, waited an hour, then took it. it seems to be okay but it doesn't exactly go down well- lots of burpy bubbles.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
