Quick question... Anyone have facial hair due to PCOS and have the symptoms of that (or any/all) die down or go away completely after weight loss?? Thanks

American Laser? Is it any different from any other laser treatment?

Yeah many of my friends have got their whole body laser done from here and they recommend this.......couple of the ladies I know had a very bad experience at other non authentic places......

I take spirolactone for hair growth. It has helped a great deal. I still get a few hairs, but it has greatly decreased, and is lighter in color. It also helps with a skin condition I have called sebaceous hyperplasia. I am pre-surgery, but I hope I can continue this particular med, because of what it does over all.

The laser treatments did not work for me at all, but there is a prescription cream called Vaniqa that helps some. Insurance doesn't cover it so it's a little pricey, but they usually give me a discount card for it.

I take aldectone and it doesn't seem to help. What dose do you take? And I'll have to investigate that cream!

I also have PCOS and had surgery to help with conception. I am 4.5 months post-surgery and have lost 75 of the 120 that the doctors wanted me to lose over the year (I would like to lose 150).

I am getting conflicting information from my doctors. I am nearly 36 y/o and have been trying to conceive for 3 years. The OB/GYN and Fertility Specialist want me to start trying again in September 2012. This will only be 6.5 months post-surgery. The surgeon is recommending that I wait until one year post-op. She is telling me that the only reason to wait is so that I can lose more weight, but that I should not have any additional complications due to surgery, especially if I wait until 6 months post-op.

My husband and I are tyring to decie what to do.

Hi guys! I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS but I've been doing some research on it and I have a lot of the symptoms. I have a medical appointment on the 24th and Im gonna bring it up. The hair growth on your chin omfg I've had that for YEARS this finally makes sense as a cause. I've also usually had very regular periods but he last year since I gained like 40lbs they have been very out of wack. I've also gotten some mild cramping latley not related to my TOM so im concerned. The hear growth on my chin has also been way worse with the weight gain then ever. Like I said I'm going to get this looked at.

My surgeon suggested me to wait for at least one year to get conceived ....give your surgery time to heal and your body to adjust to this change.luckily I conceived exactly after be year and the whole pregnancy period was horrible.so I would suggest you to wait till one year and you will get pregnant with out any treatment.trust me it's not easy after sleeve.

My RE wants to start 6 months out also. My surgeon said the reason they recommend 1-2 years is to maximize weight loss. He said it wouldn't harm the baby. I am 36 and I think the RE is concerned about time/egg quantity and quality. I'm facing the same tough decision.

Ok, this seems like the place to bring up this question. So, my fellow PCOSers.... after not having a period for 7 months, and now losing 42 pounds, I'm having the period from hell. I sorta expected it, but wowwie, is it heavy. I'm not sure when I should be alarmed. I'm on day 2 of the worry flow. Last year, my Ob-gyn gave me a pill to induce my period because I had a thick build up in my uterine wall from not properly cycling... so, I know thats whats happening. Its just concerning.... and uncomfortable. Anyone else deal with something similar?

@ moreganK in June and July I got my Tom that is twice in the whole year well this August and I'm waiting for it again but when I had it it was very painful I drank hot tea and put heat packs which helped a lot another thing our body is not use to have a menstrual each month but I'm hoping that the pain gets better as time goes on.

Look on livingsocial and groupon for laser hair removal treatments if it doesn't go away. But I can tell you that my dr said the weight will affect my hormonal variations and it may slow the growth, but it won't take it away. Note: if you choose laser hair removal, let it grow in a bit to reduce the number or visits you have to go for. Usually three should take it away for at least a couple of years I am told by a friend who has a lot of facial hair because of her ethnicity. I have yet to try it but she is a pro and I have never seen a hair on her! So I'd take the advice. good luck!
