Chest Pain On Pre-Op Diet

this is day 5 of liquid pre-op diet. My chest started gradually hurting last night, and is worse today. It feels like I slept wrong on my side or something. It hurts when I turn left right, or reach for something, or press down on it. Right behind my sternum. I've read it could possibly be heartburn, but I don't feel a burning sensation. Is it possible to have heartburn or GERD without a burning sensation? I don't think it's anything serious, but it is not comfortable.

Try milk of mag or tums to see if it relives it

  • Author

took 2 tums about an hour ago, waiting to see if it relieves it.

The pain is with movement

I wonder if it could be gas caused by a sensitivity to milk, perhaps? With heartburn and GERD, you may also experience some acid trying to make its way back up your esophogus. Pepcid works when I have a bit of reflux... GasX may help, if it is gas. Good luck!
