I was not thinking about my lap top. I brought a couple pair of stretchy pajama pants and toiletries. Because of the IV I had to keep hospital gown on.i spent most the time sleeping.< /p>

In the hospital, I just wore the hospital gown, allowed me to pack light - less clothing to pack! Bring shoes you just slide on, you don't want to be trying to tie shoes or anything.

Bring your toiletries - toothbrush/paste, Shampoo and any other hair stuff, moisturizer, lip balm.

Bring loose comfortable clothing. Keep an eye on weather forecasts so you pack appropriately. It was much cooler there than I would have thought. Bring one outfit you wouldn't mind going to a dinner in, in case Dr. Kelly takes you out (he took us out for a really nice dinner, the broth was lovely, lol.)

Bring small bills, in case you buy anything, you don't get pesos as change.

I'll add if I think of anything else.

I took my iPhone, iPad, 2pr shorts, 2 shirts, socks, undies, toiletries, & a pair of house shoes. All in a small gym bag. Oh yeah, my passport.

I also slept most of the time, or talked to my fellow sleevers. I wore the hospital gown and my slippers. I wore the same yoga pants and shirt home that I wore on the plane there. I did use my heating pad, it helped with the shoulder pain from the CO2 gas. I took toothpaste and brush, Shampoo, lip balm, undies. I took other stuff I never used--Kindle, phone, robe, another pair of shoes, etc. Pack light! You can always buy or borrow something if it turns out you need it.

Oh yeah, don't forget the passport!

I wore only one pair of shoes the entire time, didn't even pack another. (Fitflops).

Also, maybe if you have a favorite nail polish for your toenails, in case they take off your polish in the hospital. They did not take off mine, but they did take it off the other two patients that day.

I brought tea bags, peppermint. The hotel room has a mini coffee maker and it was nice to be able to make a cup of tea. The hotel does have chamomile, though.

Ask for a poolside room!

I went alone so I worried that putting my laptop in my backpack would be much weight for me to carry back pre-op. let me tell you, I wish I had it with me! There were times I sure could have used it! If someone is going with you, I'd suggest bringing it, or an iPad if you have one :-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
