So i've been taking Prilosec generic once per day. I read on here that some sleevers take it twice per day. So that is ok? Cuz ive noticed at night the hungry feeling returns.

I take 40 mg of omeprazole each evening. My Dr. prescribed that for the first month. (Equivalent of 2 Prilosecs)

I was on 20mg Prilosec a day before surgery due to my GERD and now am on it twice a day after surgery. I'm still having some issues so may throw in a tums now and then. I have also tried taking the 40mg in the morning but I seem to do better when splitting it up.

I am taking 20mg of omeprazole morning and night. I keep antacids in my purse just in case! Prior to surgery I was on 20mg omeprazole daily. So I doubled post surgery. By prescription though. I wouldn't take meds not prescribed.

YES, but ONLY AFTER THE DOC OKS IT. Don't just start popping stuff. PPI's can have long term effects with Calcium uptake and may cause other issues.

Excess acid and reflux SHOULD clear up after the stomach calms down after the trauma of surgery, after all you did just lop off over half of him :)

The stomach swells in AND out. And what few proton (acid) pumps are left post-op can over run the tiny swelled space that is left. A PPI can help. I started them post-op and have been taking them over a year and a half now, I am now taking them only once every 3 days till I run out then re-examining how I feel and will go back to the doc if need be for a new scrip.

I also found that a few saltine crackers helps soak up acid too - that's what pregnant women have been doing for a century or more for morning sickness. I find 3 or 4 crackers clears it right up and they don't have that many calories.

Remember see the doc FIRST before increasing your dosage. And prescription omeprozol (generic Prilosec) is TWICE the dosage of the OTC brand and may actually be cheaper even without RX insurance.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
