Since you don't have a surgery date yet, are you going to be doing this long-term or short-term? My doctor made me lose 40 pounds before he would schedule me. It took 2 1/2 months. They put me on Adipex, an appetite suppressant and stimulant, to help. I did a 3/2 plan, which meant 3 Meal Replacements and 2 "lean and green" meals. If you're allowed, I would recommend Protein bars over shakes. My NUT gave me the option and I had a shake maybe twice. Having the bars made me feel like I was really eating something. I don't think I could have done it without the drugs! lol

Could you cut the shakes in half and eat them over two servings? That way, you'd be eating 5x day instead of 3. Eating more frequently helped me. I wasn't eating a lot but what I had could hold me over for 2 hours, definitely not 4-5.

My surgeon had me do the slim fast diet - 5 shakes a day, one meal and at least 64 oz of Water a day. I lost 13lbs during the 2 week pre op diet. I still have my diet info if you would like to give it a try.

My husband has been diagnosed with diabetes. He tried the meds but he didn't like the way they made him feel so for the past year he has controlled his diabetes by eating the right food which is no carbs, sugar etc. He is my number one supporter. I am looking at this surgery like he did with his diabetes. The liquid is not going to be easy...I like to crunch but sonic has good ice. I am going to do this. I have to have my life back. WE CAN DO THIS. I am still seeing drs.and nutritionist. I haven't started pre op diet yet nor do I have a date set. It's coming soon. I am so ready. Good luck to everyone that has already begun their journey to healthy skinny.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
