Has anyone else discovered that they have no sliders?

I haven't been looking for mine, and I'm glad to know I don't have any, but with everyone talking about sliders all the time I just assumed they were normal. I've tried popcorn and can only eat 2-3 handfuls before I'm full, cheetos never appealed to me pre-op let alone post-op but I assume they'd have a similar effect, I've had baked Lays and about 5-10 chips and I'm done.. Again, I'm glad that I don't appear to have any at 5mos out, I just find it odd that it seems to be so common. I guess I'm just the odd ball out?

None so far. My NUT suggested that twice a week I try eating about 100 empty calories (a bit of a desperation move). So I tried some cheese curls and was full on about 6 of them. I've tried chips, too - the baked Lay's that look like Pringles. I can eat about 6 of those as well. I've not tried popcorn, not a big popcorn fan. If I have a slider, it's fresh strawberries. I still can't eat very many, but volume-wise I can eat those the most. Then again, they essentially crush down to Water.< /p>

May I suggest not trying to find them ... :)

I have found mine (I'm not going to tell you what they are) and I wish I didn't!

^ Really good point!

One of the things I regretted with my lapband was that I had ever tried white carbs. For months & months I was afraid of them, and for months & months I lost weight like no one's business. Let' just say that once I tried them & discovered they didn't make me sick (like I had thought they would), it became a lot easier to eat them. I had to go through a fairly rigorous "back to basics" track to get away from them again, and it was not easy.

You can't un-go there. :)

Oh I'm not trying, trust me. I was just asking if anyone else had noticed they didn't have any ;-)

I didn't have any until I found them! ;)

And then, like Wheetsin says, you can't un-go there ...

I so agree with PDX man. Don't go there. I have found mine and an extra 8 to 9 pounds from my lowest. Still well below goal weight but it is scary.

WARNING - don't go looking for trouble for you will surely find it.

Again, I'm not, I was merely sharing an observation.

I have not had any. I can only eat 2 to 3 pieces of popcorn and baked lays ably 3 chips. I guess if I had to claim one it would be watermelon. I can eat about a cup, but then I am truly full. Oh, and I can eat two french fries. That is it and I never want any more. I have only had them twice when I was so hungry and had nothing else around. Got a meal for my daughter, had two fries to word off the hungry feeling. I then went home and ate a healthy meal.

I won't touch junk food at all- that includes soda and fast food- starchy foods- pasta- rice- I am on a track for a better life- and JUNK has no part in it :-)!

I dont ever want to discover my "sliders" or anything that doesn't belong in my lifestyle.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
