Am sure it is on here somewhere but I did a search and couldn't find it. What should I pack for hospital?

Well it all depends on how long you will be there. I packed two night gowns w/matching robes(alot of us get really cold after surgery so i used them for when i went on my walks up and down the hall) and my own slippers. I also packed deodorant, powder, toothbrush and toothpaste(i like my own but they give you some) i also packed a few panties. I only wore one of my nightgowns because until you get your iv out you cant manuever your arms through it and you wont be able to wear underwear until your catheter is out. I didnt bother with a bra b/c of how high my incision was. Just bring the basics....i also brought my favorite quilt just to have something that was mine, i brought a book that i never read as well...lol. anesthesia had me knocked out most of the time..i wore home the same clothes i wore there b/c your in them for such a short time on surgery day so they aren't dirty and chapstick b/c your lips get really dry..oh and a comb lol b/c your hair is bound to be all over the place. I hope that helps *i was there for 6 days btw

I brought a nightgown, but didn't use it. U would just wear the hospital gown and then ask them for another one you can wear in reverse as a robe.

Sorry, cut me off before I was finished. I would not bring bra or underwear -- they just get in the way of the people that are constantly looking at the incisions. I would wear home what you wore there-- given the short amount of time you are in it, it is still clean. Here is what I should have packed based on what I actually used:

Hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, pair of flip flops ( same shoes I wore there, but doubled for walking in halls), mio or flavoring for Water if you want that and Chapstick or lip balm. My iphone -- i can read on that too. Anything else was a waste of packing.

You can pretty much go bare bones on what to bring. I took a change of PJ's, undies, deodorant, lip balm socks, Gas X strips, my Kindle and my iPHone. I read a little and of course was able to keep in touch with the outside world via phone, brushed my teeth, used my lip balm a lot and used a little deodorant and that was it. You're going to find that you won't need too much simply because you will be resting a lot. Make sure to bring lip balm!!

Depends on your stay... You will need slippers because you will be doing a lot of walking! Bath stuff, gas x strips, heating lad, magazines, book, phone charger... Think that's about it. I slept most of my post op. If I wasn't walking I was sleeping.< /p>

Lip balm was the one thing I couldn't do without. I didn't really use anything else since I was only there one night.

Oh just thought of something that I think really helped me in the hospital - ask them to put the nausea patch behind your ear, not every hospital does it automatically. You keep it on for 3 days and believe that it really helped me with nausea control.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
