Feeling Self-Conscious Post-Sleeve?

Recommended Posts

So, a few of my girlfriends and I went out to a casino this past weekend... We kind of separated and perused different parts of the place... I was sitting at a penny slot (I don't gamble, so I thought pennies were safe! LOL) and this guy sits next to me and starts talking and stuff... The first thing through my mind was.. OMG, I have a sleeveless shirt... Is he looking at my arms...

At my heaviest, I was never self-conscious about my looks... but lately, it's like.. OMG, I need to do this or this doesn't look right...

Have you guys experienced this??

I haven't been sleeved yet, but I have lost 75 pounds before with Atkins and I can tell you when the weight starts coming off, like it sure has for you, (way to go, by the way!) you start to care again. You start to care about your clothes and your hair and it all matters again. It's a good sign, girl! It means your self-esteem is growing and repairing and it should! You look great and you're getting even better with every passing day. Enjoy the attention and RELAX. You're going to get more of it !! Best wishes!

Oh yes! I'm really self-conscious about my arms. They are the most visible flabby/saggy area and I've not been comfortable enough to wear tank tops or sleeveless shirts yet. I get it!!

I've never been self-conscious about my clothes and stuff... So, I was surprised!! Maybe it's just that I'm changing so much and my head hasn't caught up!! LOL...

Its a mind thing. My dr. Said that doing push ups off the wall while standing will help that. Or some weights from walmart....

My arms aren't bad at all!! Which is why I was a little taken aback... Aqua aerobics and resistance bands are doing a great job...

My poor thighs. I am still going to have to wear shorts in the Water until I have an inner thigh lift. I do still feel self conscience but at least I don't feel like a slave to food. That by far was the worst. I have flabby inner thighs, but I still like what I see more than I did before.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
