Where can I get the card for after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I've read there is a card from Inamed that you can carry that indicates that you've had weight loss surgery, and cannot eat a lot of food at a time.

I recently had a bad experience at a restaurant, where I was not allowed to order off of the children's menu, they insisted I order an adult meal. I don't know if the card would have helped in this case, but iwould have liked to have it to show, to see if they would allow me to order what I wanted.

I looked on teh Inamed site, and couldn't find anything - can someone let me know where I can get teh card? My doctor does not supply them.

Thanks!

You may want to take this up with your doctor again. My card was supplied by my doctor but judging by the stylish layout, it looks like it comes directly from Inamed. It matches their other documents. It has a spot for my name to be written in, and my doctor's name to be written in. So I'm presuming that Inamed supplies them in the kit they give to the doctor that contains the actual band. Maybe your doctor threw it out?

Good luck!

Marie

Mine came from my surgeon but it came from inamed and I've heard they come with your band so I would ask him again. If not, I've got the email address for inamed, and you email the guy and he sends you one. Let me know if you want it.

I got a card from my hospital/surgeon that says the name of the hospital on it and pretty much the same info that the card linked above does. My nutritionist signed it. I haven't had to use it yet, but I'm glad I have it. Every children's menu I've seen so far has been full of Pasta and deep fried foods, so I usually order fish and bring home enough for one or two more meals.

My doctor gave it to me. It really does work great. I have been able to get half orders, and discounts at buffet places.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
