Having a hard time

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I was banded 10/05 and I am having such a hard time. I have gained back 8 pounds and spend alot of time vomiting. I have had a EGD and now know everything is OK with my band. I feel like I have completely fell off the wagon. I am struggling to get back to where I was after surgery. Has anyone out there gone through this and managed to get back on track?

Hi there,

I'm just over 5mths out with the band and have just been through what you have said. We went on vacation at the beginning of this month and when we came back I just couldn't seem to pull it together and get back to where I had been. I wasn't walking, not drinking enough Water and worst of all I was nibbling anything and everything in sight...all things I knew I shouldn't.

It was making me feel really low and so I decided I wasn't gonna let my bad habits win..again. They always did in the past..diet -binge- say what's the point and keep on binging!

So, I decided to just take it one day at a time and do the best I could...my band isn't going anywhere and there was no point sulking about the silly choices I'd made. I got my water drinking back on track, then built up my walking again-increasing day by day and now that's fine I'm making much better food choices day by day.

No point looking backwards...what do you want to do tomorrow...?

Don't make it too big a step..something you CAN do and then work from there. Good luck :)

Yes! I've fallen off the wagon. I always go back to fitday.com and start logging what I eat. That way, I am accountable and actually remind myself what I am eating. For some reason, this seems to work for me.

Good luck. Shawn

Thanks for the advice. I am feeling better today. I have lost 2 pounds over the last couple of days. One day at a time. Thanks

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
