Urinary Tract Infection..

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm 14 days post op today. This weekend I started to have problems urinating, burning etc. I've had urinary tract infections before so I knew that's what it was pretty much right away. I went to urgent care and they confirmed it and gave me an antibiotic to knock it out. Just a little worried though, does anyone know if this could be a symptom of some kind of complication with the vsg?

Thanks,

Cliff

I had a UTI at 2 weeks out as well. I was dehydrated too, so I think in my case it was more caused by dehydration. Since I finished my antibiotics, I've made sure to drink lots of Fluid and so far, so good. Get well!

Thanks for the quick reply! Getting enough fluids has been a challenge for me as well but don't think I've reached the dehydration stage yet...have been trying to increase the Water intake since this started.

Thanks again!

UTI's are caused 99% of the time by E. Coli. after abdmoninal surgery some women can get a UTI just because it hurts to bend over and properly not cleaning... or... if you had a catheter placed during surgery the vagina was not cleaned properly before insertion.

well..I'm not a woman and didn't get a catheter when I was sleeved...so its not one of those :) but I have had uti's twice before so maybe I'm just prone to them or something?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
