  • Being a child of the 60's I was still enjoying the morphine when the surgeon came in to see me and tell me I could go home. He looked quite puzzled when I asked him if he had found my missing car keys

Are we supposed to post pics of the portion they took out? How would we do that? I'm confused...

They didn't take a pic of mine...

The photo didn't show up.. so here's attempt #2... hope it works.

You are lucky. They wouldn't take a picture of mine even though I asked them too.

Oh, alright. The surgeon was actually the one who brought it up to my husband.. He asked him if he wanted photos so he snapped away.. :)

Rodswife.. That's too bad I don't see why they couldn't help you out with that.. It's just a photo...

I work in the OR so I asked my friends to record the surgery for me. This is a picture of the removed part of the stomach on the right. The left is the staple line along the bougie inside.post-29123-13813658887545_thumb.jpg

I didn't get this option. Dam it, I would have really wanted to see my stomach! :) Thanks for sharing.

I got a pic of my surprise hernia to take home but no tummy..that would've been cool.

Wow, that is not pretty! Now I REALLY don't miss it! :o

Military hospital. Liability etc. I was disappointed.

I guess that is policy (SOP, whatever), but I cannot see why taking a picture of a dead organ could cause a liability issue.

I forgot to ask them to take a picture. I would have wanted an inside picture like amr got. Heck, I would want a video of the whole thing!

Here's mine. I requested a picture cuz I'm weird like that :)
