got a fill - OUCH on my port! input?

Recommended Posts

Everytime I've gotten a fill the needle pain is just a little prick and no big deal, right. But I got a fill today and it hurt like the dickens when he put the needle in, and it's still hurting hours later. The nurse says sometimes they pinch a nerve. Has anyone else had this pain after a fill? It's driving me nuts. It's not the worst pain I've ever had, but it's noticeable pain!

I got my 2nd fill today and he hit it first time but I do have a bad soreness where he put the needle in. They use the same needles as my Dad use to use on the farm to inject cattle, so I guess that's why it hurts. Hope your feeling better very soon.

It seems strange that they would hit a nerve but I guess anything is possible. I've had 3 fills and all were uneventful. Try putting some ice on the port and taking some tylenol.

well, I woke up this morning and I feel fine now. I don't know what happened. I guess it's over now. I hate getting fills - something always happens where I never feel quite right for a day or two after getting one!

I have only had 1 fill and it was PAINFUL!! It burned really bad for some reason. I'm sticking to the theory that the benedine got on the needle prick. I'm getting a 2nd fill soon so we will see if it was just a one time thing.

My doc gives the area a numbing shot first... then he inserts the fill needle, and I never feel it at all.

Usually a little sore for a day afterward, but nothing notable.

Hope next time goes better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
