5 Lbs To Goal At 7 Months, My Lightweight Story (Low Bmi)

Recommended Posts

139 lbs, 5'7 (slouching) is the current number.

188 was at surgery. Barely qualified. Ate like a pig the last few weeks to make sure I made weight.

I have not worked out yet. Just yard work and walking.

First three months after surgery I over ate all the time. It was hard to break that habit. Was punished a lot by sleeve. It is just now

that I am use to eating just a little, and don't try to stuff more in. Weight is really falling off the last few weeks because of this. Have had two big stalls, about two weeks each time, but did not sweat them, knew they would break. I occasionally have a glass or two of wine, and I drink two shots of espresso with steamed whole milk froth everyday. Water---no sodas-ever, and unsweet tea most of the time. chicken sits like a rock, actually hurts my stomach. I had filet today from Ruth Chris, and it was fine. In general I don't like meat.< /p>

I am so thankful that I got surgery early. I think it has been easier because of it. I know I would not have lost the weight on my own. I am much healthier now and feel very good about myself. I still snore, but I think apnea is better.

My only concern is that I start leveling off in the 120's. I have been in the 110's and I look super skinny at that weight, so I don't want to go there. If you are a light weight, low bmi and wonder if surgery is for you, I hope my story and journey helps. I has been easy and soooo worth it.

You just made my evening! Thanks for posting! I'm 5'2, 210lbs at beginning of the process - I had to self pay; my insurance has a wls exclusion.

Thank you soo much for your post. I have a low BMI i'm 5 ft and about 178 and am scheduling surgery today. I have been searching for someone to say it's soo worth it even if your BMI isn't super high. I have struggled for years and years - up and down continually.

Shelley, I also have to selfpay, but I think it's going to be the best money ever spent. I'm just so scared of my own destructive nature and my love of food. But I am going to forge ahead and get healthy and start living my life again. I so want to feel comfortable in my skin again.

Thank you

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
