Sleeved may 21...SW 250, weight yesterday 230. Exciting! Was doing well on liquids. Now that I'm adding in mushy foods slowly finding I need a new routine around Water. The waiting before and after to drink throws me off! But I'll get there :) less head hunger than that first week, so that's encouraging for now!

Hi Everyone,

A pleasure to meet you all. I was sleeved on May 29th at the John Hopkins Hospital by Dr. Schweitzer. I wasn't asked to go on a prolonged pre-op diet, just needed to be on liquids before the surgery (so I had more time to say good bye to old friends such as pizzas and cheeseburgers :).

Anyways, I was 260 lbs at the date of surgery. Today (9 days post-op), I'm at 249 lbs. I'm also ready to move on the puree diet today. Looking forward to some my first plate of scrambled eggs!

Moe

Sleeved May 29th and down 28 pounds! Doing great mostly. Pulled a muscle near my top left incision. Very painful! Apparently, that muscle will always be prone to strain and pain because damage is done to it during the removal of the stomach. Yikes! Don't rember reading that in any of the possible issues.

I was sleeved on May 14 - per the dr I can start solids today. I'm a little nervous about that, so going to still stick to the softer side. Congrats to all the May sleevers on weight loss so far! I am just ending/still a little bit in a stall - It's lasted since week 2. I lost 18 pounds in the first 10 days, then nada, zip, nuttin. I'm down 2 more the past few days, for a total of 20 so far. I am glad to be 20 down, but certainly have a long way to go (299 pre-sleeve diet start, 275 surgery date, 255 today). Monday will be 4 weeks for me and I've been really strict about what I eat and when - should I be concerned at only losing 20 lbs so far? What i've read is that we can expect 10 lbs a month, but I see lots with great success these first few weeks. Just being slightly paranoid over here!

That would be totally new to me. I was into heavy weight lifting when I was younger. We intentionally shredded our muscles because they repaired themselves stronger & bigger. I've never heard of muscle damage that wasn't repairable back to 100%. Ligament & tendons yes , but not muscle.

May sleevers...curious howard calories you're eating and whether or not you're in a stall. I'm at nearly three weeks and getting in about 550. Anyone managing to get in more and, if so, how's the weight loss going?

Getting in about the same. And I haven't weighed since I started week 3 so I don't know if I am stalled. I only weigh once a week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
