June Sleever's Compilation - Good Luck & Well Wishes

Recommended Posts

Good morning :)

I slept a lot yesterday. Used the restroom a lot all night. Everytime I got up I would feel so nauseous and start dry heaving. At about 6am they have me some zofran for the nausea which helped so much. The nurses are so nice. This morning I go for an xray to check for leaks. Everything else is going pretty smoothly. Not alot of gas pain or stomach pain. Got lucky. I think it was all due to your guys' prayers. Thanks soooo much for that. Talk to you all soon. <3 Vee

Thank you for the update, it's good to hear from a June sleever. Glad to hear that you're doing so well and thank heavens for Zofran! I can't believe it's June already, it felt like forever getting here! Now I'm having butterflies and I still have 23 days to go. I'm gonna make myself a nervous wreck...

BigGirlVee it's so great to hear that you are doing well and I'm glad that you were given something for it. Thank you so much for keeping us information and keeping you and all the June 1st Sleevers in my prayers!

Dad, thank you so much for your post. Good luck with your endoscopy and pretty soon it will be you!!

Jane, thank you so much, I may not have internet when I am gone so I have no clue when I will be able to update it or add to it while I'm gone. I'm scheduled to be gone Mon - Thur or Friday.

This is for all June Sleevers, my head nurse told me there is no REASON for nausea, because there is a plethora of nausea medications out there. If you are nauseous tell your nurse immediately, don't hesitate, make them get you something. That's the worst thing because pain medications, the anesthesia and everything can make you nauseous but you shouldn't have to suffer when it can be control by antinausea medication. If one doesn't work they can get you something else.

Time for lunch, strawberry shake is calling me ;)

Thank you!

Now that I've got everything settled for my daughter while my husband is with me at the hospital, I'm more relaxed. Starting to actually get a little excited. I need to be at the hospital by 8:40AM, so surgery probably by 11 or so.

Prayers and best wishes for all of us!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
