Just remember, one day you will be able to eat anything you want, in smaller portions. There is not one thing I can't eat.

I was sleeved on May 17. Today was a bad day. When I went out I smelled every smell from every fast food' date=' pizzaria, bbq spot. I have to pick a new route to drive home. Tonight I discovered Diet Peach Snapple. It was like a GodSend. I hope it's decaf. I took one too many sips and ugh! Now I'm a little queasy.

Hang in there my friend.[/quote']

Yes the peach has caff in it try turkey hill diet Ice tea

You can't get away from the smells. Try to associate something bad with them. Like, for fast food, I imagine rancid grease and stale french fries. For pizza, I imagine cardboard crust and too much of the red sauce. You get the idea. Pretty soon, the smells won't affect you. It's kind of like quitting smoking. When I smoked, the smell of smoke didn't bother me. Now, it makes me gag. Same idea.

Yes I am the same. Life will become normal for you, just believe that and hang on in there.

Haha, great mind control.....It reminded me of a book I read years ago that talked about mayo and how much oil was in it and other unhealthy foods. After reading the book that visualization kept me from eating mayo for quite some time.

I quit smoking in 2004 - it was my 5th attempt I think but I knew it would be my last because my mind had finally made it to the place where I really didn't want to do it anymore. My tools were Welbutrin and the patch, in fact I went out some additional weeks with the patch to make sure I got over the habit of picking up a cigarete because I had to deal with the full nicotine withdawl. Taking it each and every day on step at a time was key but more than that, realizing that I cannot be a social smoker, can't have a single cigarette or I will be right back to being a smoker has kept me going as a non smoker.

The point of all that was to stay that I am finally in the same mindset to lose weight. food, in particular Carbs are not my friend, they have helped to put this weight on my body - I have no self control to stop when eating something that tastes wonderful to me so I have to look at food as a necessary part of life but taking the emotion out of it. I eat because I'm hungry but mostly I have eaten because I'm bored. My focus now is to get in the nutrition I need to keep the body going but I'm divorcing my love affair - I'm truly done - I'm not spending the rest of my life as a fat person!!!

You have found the key to success!!! Easier said than done, but it CAN be done. It's a matter of retraining the brain.

Look at the food they are all eating, and think of it as poison, bc for you it is. Instead, embrace the healthy yogurt and soup you are eating. Eventually, you WILL be able to eat anything, but the key to your success will be that you will only be able to eat a few bites of everything, and then you will be full. That is the point of your surgery, right. It is the hardest thing to get your brain around -- not being able to eat all the food you used to be able to shovel in. You brain still wants more of the taste. Just talk to yourself every day. You don't need it, you don't want it. Eventually, it will start to sink in.

Awe we share sleeve dates! I had a rough afternoon yesterday with head hunger. Amazing how much we ate out of just habit. I'm learning to eat to live instead of living to eat. Need a hobby!

I have a sleeve date of June 25th. I am a volume eater. I grew up going without food on a regular basis and frequently eat out if boredom or just because something else yummy is around. I know why I do it, I'm just going to have a hard time controlling it. The thought of getting queasy, sick, or vomit because I eat to fast or too much actually appeals to me. Sounds sick huh? I really need this WL tool.

I am almost 6 months out and I can eat anything I want. However, you will find that your cravings and taste buds change. Something you may have eaten all the time before, may not taste good to you now. Please hang in there. Think of the long term results. You will feel so much better and healthier and you will love your new lifestyle. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you should be fine. I have gone from a size 18 to a size 6 in less than 6 months. Is that enough insoiration for you to hang in there? you will feel so good about this in a couple months. Your time and regular food will come. Good luck.

Oh God! you just described exactly how I felt during that period. Believe me, it will get better, if you feel anything abnormal, talk to your doctor. And please promise me you won't try to eat again on the liquid phase. You will put excess stress on your stomach that it may not be prepared to handle.

You will probably laugh, but I used to torture myself watching recipe websites and drool over them in this phase (I don't even enjoy cooking and all of the sudden I wanted to be a chef LOL!). I don't know if I was being masochist or what, truth is that as soon as I started to eat regular food (last phase), there were lots of foods that I loved that are now not so appealing after all. So I got over my food porn, and now I feel great, it's still a challenge trying to figure out when I'm full, but as soon as I feel any type of discomfort no matter how minimal it is, I stop eating, and I'm satisfied. You will feel better, hang in there!
