My gallbladder hurt like heck. My VSG, only when I tried to turn over in bed. I took Vicodin for six days after gallbladder, no pain meds after 3 days with VSG.

Ugh if you mean the actual surgery, it was VSG.

But that doesn't mean VSG surgery is bad. GB surgery was just that much of a breeze.

Day after GB I was back to normal, no pain, never needed meds, etc.

VSG had an incision that tweaked for a while, and I had some energy issues.

Yeah....I agree...the VSG surgery was a little harder on me also, but I had a hernia repair thrown in, so I was on pain meds for 2 solid weeks 24/7. It gave me a hard time. The stomach part was fine though. After gall bladder surgery, I was fine after a few days. BEFORE gall bladder surgery, however, was some of the worst pain i've ever experienced in my life! And I've given birth to twins! lol

I had my gallbladder removed at the same time they did a total hysterectomy and removal of a bartholand gland cyst. I was out of the hospital in less than 24 hours (really don't like being in the hospital) - and back to work 3 days later. So if my VSG goes that well - I will be VERY happy. Did the same thing with emergency surgery a year ago January for a hernia that twisted my intestines! That was so much worse feeling that the gall stones! LOL - I'm not so good with the pain meds. Too much of a control freak - hate feeling "out of control" - so I'm hoping this procedure will go just as well for me as all my others. I have a pretty high threashold for pain - either that or I just don't like to admit I'm hurting! LOL

Neither. . . I didn't have much pain with either surgery. this really just depends on your own way to cope with pain. . .

Gallbladder surgery was a breeze, back to work in a week and a half (Could have gone back in 3 days but didn't :) ) VSG, pain was there but not bad, the nausea tho was TERRIBLE!! I took two weeks off but could have stayed off another week due to fatigue.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
