Wow! Congrats Shell! You're looking fantastic in your profile pic! And yep, after I lost my weight on the band, I was soooo thankful that my feet went down to a size 12! Still huge I know but coming from a 13/14 I was über impressed!

Wooo! Can't wait til I'm dropping kgs and cm's too!

Xo

So so true and she wonders why she has no energy

Wow Shell! Looking gorgeous!! Great stats too...I'll be keeping them in mind when I'm at hospital tomorrow!

Pfft! I repeat - LIFESTYLE CHANGE! Of course you're not going to be energized living off child and bread!

Do you think she will get the energy of a child from living off child? :-P

*chips*

My husband saw this and started soap boxing about WLS. I pointed out the sleeve is not malabsorptive. And also - I don't plan on eating bread and chips.....

Once again I have not been here for a while but have seen all your updates come through.

Shells, congrats those stats are great

Lila, I am so sorry to hear about your complications. I really hope all the tests come back ok and you are able to move forward with your recovery...fingers and toes crossed for you. I will be thinking of you...

Kayaragh, please don't let the negative thoughts get in your way, they will eat you away if you let them. But you do need to be sure that it is the right choice for you..and you are ready for he life changes that should be made with the sleeve.

I am so close to a year (13 days), and still loosing despite doing what seems like my worst to stay healthy while traveling, as I was/am a foodie and want to try different things while traveling. I do still exercise while I am away, it is part of my life...I feel blegh if I go more than a day or two without doing something physical.

I was near a scale for the first time in at least 2 weeks this morning and hit the 70's, well hit 79kgs which is like 71kg lost in a year...only really want to loose another 4, everything else loose icky skin.

I hope you are all doing well with your journey's.

Woops! Gotta love the iPhone autocorrects! ☺

Aussiegirl, wow congratulations on hitting the 70's!! I haven't been there since my teens! Lol and to think I used to complain that I was too heavy???? Thank you for your words of wisdom, so great to hear from you! I am definitely ready for the changes, I think as hard as it can seem sometimes the pre-op is a wonderful opportunity to get your head around liquids, Proteins and I've been practicing slow sipping lol.

Currently making an excellent chicken broth to store for when I get home. I am making lasagna, pork dishes and vege spag for when I'm away (just incase it's longer than anticipated) and trying to get the house in prize home shap for tomorrow when the Ex MIL comes to stay with my girls- that's more nerve racking than anything!!!????

Again congrats and thanks for loggin on an letting is know how you are going!????

Hey that's pretty darn awesome aussiegirl!!

And kayargh: sounds like you're keeping too busy to worry ;) lol soooooo cited for you!! And you won't let anyone judge you once your on the losers bench!!! I can see you like "I'm fit biatch! Clean my house for me then!"

Lol mwahahaha the evil devil inside just waiting to get loose!

Hi all and thanks for your lovely posts. To anyone who has been freaked out by my experience know I am the anomaly not the majority. There was no reason or way to tell this could have happened beforehand and my surgeon has gone over the video with other surgeons who all agreed it should have been fine. The moal of the story for me is that they got onto my condition quickly enough and I am still here. There have been times through this that I thought I was going to die but at no point have I really thought I shouldn't have done it. The other options for my obesity were so bleak what else could I have done?

Sitting here tonight I feel like nah I would rather be at home feeling ok than benign right here but if that was the case I would also be so desperately hopeless about any future change.

It was also funnty to see my new sleeve in the leak test as it was like , yep they really did it. It's not a joke!

Sadly the test showed a leak st the top of the sleeve which means I have at least three more weeks in hospital coming up and a move to the public system. Sad to leave this great hospital but it would leave me with a bill of over $60000 to stay. It also means I will have to have nil by mouth for at least another three weeks a d have a feeds g tube. This will give me nutrition as I am staying alive n I've fluids at the moment. I am hoping I will get a little more energy too. Ironically this keeps my weight ina holding pattern so on e this is all over and I am leak free I will start losing weight but nothing fr the next month...weird huh. Go a month without food and still not lose weight....only I could do that.

I am not hungry at all but would KILL for a fanta ( which I hated before it is odd what you want in times like this) or ice cold apple juice. The mouth dryness is the absolute worst and what I am least looking forward to.

Thanks again t everyone. I am hoping to be up for visitors in the next few weeks and would love to arrange for visits. At the moment I am falling asleep so quickly it isn't worth the effort as poor Juiie can attest to!

Thanks again andI will try to keep in touch! Cheers Lila
