Nothing wrong with being picky. There are a lot of ****heads around.

I dunno why they call it firecracker. The dressing had a zing to it, but I wouldn't say it was hot.

Congrats to Scotty, Nessa and AussieLady - isn't it such a fantastic feeling to see that weight come off and the old clothes go out the door FOREVER!

Kelli - great to hear that your stall broke - did the dietician help with that?

I have an appointment next week for another swallow test ( still on the Nexium) and with the dietician - I need some help with food ideas that have calories but are not high cholesterol - I have got into this very bad habit of sweet things and although I am maintaining I know I need to improve my diet. I have to admit that maintaining is quite a balancing act that I am not confident that I have under control yet - just wondering if I will ever feel that I am under control as I was so out of control weight wise for years!

Hi Sue, I am not seeing the new dietician until next Monday. I can only put it down to travelling for a few days and being out of usual routine. I had blood tests last week in readiness for my meeting with the dietician and ordered by the surgeon whom I have not seen since one month after surgery, so six months ago. My GP was copied on the results and phoned me all concerned as I am extremely low in Iron and other indicators show I am bordering on anaemic. I have always had a problem with Iron absorption but it has obviously become worse since the surgery and weight loss. May have to have iron infusions. At least now I know why I am more tired than I should be!

Hi Kelli - I am low in iron too! I am taking Spatone - it is little sachets of iron Water - from a natural spring in Wales - hence the price! It is supposed to be the most easily absorbed without side effects. I feel like I have more energy even though I have only been taking it for just over a couple of weeks. Trying to eat more red meat with out the fat is a challenge as the meat can be a bit on the dry side when it is trim.

Let me know how you go at the dietician - I see mine on Tuesday so hoping she has some practical advice for upping the calories, keeping the cholesterol low and without having to try and eat more - is that possible!!

Thanks for the tips Sue. Even when Intake Iron supplements or eat Iron rich food my body does not absorb it. Weird I know.... Will let you know what new dietician and surgeon suggest as a solution.

Hi Kelli, to help with Iron absorption you need to have Vitamin c. Get the dr &/or dietician to check your Vit C intake.

Hi all, just an update with me - I'm 12 days post op and are down by 8 kg's. just missed out by 200 gms to get to double figures. That's my goal for this week to get to 10 kg's loss. I've lost 6 cm's of my butt as well - Whoo hoo!

The only bad thing is I've done my back and been laid up since Monday. It's slowly getting better but it will take time.

I hope everyone is going well

Cheers Sue :)

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone experienced massive amounts of hair loss in particular in the shower whilst combing your hair? I am getting married in 3 weeks and I can't stop it from falling out. Taking my Multivitamins. Any advice would be appreciated.

Congratulations!! Yes I did - I take silica by Herbs of Gold - I could only get it from the health shop and a bit Xe but I think it is better than the cheaper ones - I also used caffeine Shampoo which is supposed to stimulate Hair growth - not sure if it helped but worth a try - if you use the more expensive hair growth products they only start to work after 3 months and usually the Hair loss starts about 3 months after op and then tappers off and can start growing back after 9 months - so far this has been my experience - you might have to look into a hair piece for you wedding because I know my hair got quite thin - I don't think anyone else noticed as I had fairly thin hair any way and I got it cut a lot shorter - not what you probably want to do just prior to your wedding! I am sure you will look amazing and everyone will think you look fantastic and won't notice a few missing hairs! :-)

Sleever84, unfortunately yes. It is pretty common for us sleevers to loose hair from the 4 month mark on.

As Sue has said it starts to grow back around the 9 month mark..but not soon enought for your wedding....timing. Definitely talk to your hairdresser about some hair pieces..

Good luck with the wedding I am sure it will be a beautiful event.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
