Cup Of Noodles During Puree Stage?

Recommended Posts

I've been given the go ahead for the purée stage... Can I eat a cup of noodles if I chew the noodles very well and have more broth than noodles?? Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

Do I think it will hurt you if you do that? No. Do I think there are better choices, nutritionally, than cup noodles? Yes. They are high in sodium and low in Protein at a stage when everything you eat has to count. Why not make a big pot of homemade chicken noodle Soup and puree that? You could make it to your liking and know that what was in it, was good stuff.

I'm with foxbins nutritioally, cup of noodles is lacking in nutrition and this is the type of food we should stay away from. I'm sorry if this answer is not popular but this is one of the worst foods we can consume.

Thank you for your responses :-) I figured as much, but am not a big cook :-/ that's where I'm encountering issues, because I'm looking for quick fixes, and that might be why I became obese to begin with...

Why not stock up on canned Soups? I did a lot of progresso soups during that phase and blended them for a sec. The more Protein -- like a lentil Soup -- the longer you will feel satisfied.

mrsdraculara.... I know you have seen this answer already, but it is so worth repeating. Your dr didn't operate on your head only you can make that change! CARBS are BAD (at least at this stage)....

I don't like to cook all that much either. I can do it and make big meals for family get togethers that my family loves but cooking isn't a hobby for me like it is for some. I haven't tried any of these tactics yet, still pre-op but I bought some unflavored Protein powder and chicken flavored Protein Powder. I thought it I was in the mood for Soup that didn't have much Protein or if I couldn't get down enough food for my protein I would add these to food. I have heard pros/cons about the chicken broth flavored plus I have heard taste buds change after surgery so I will see how that works.

In the beginning stages I think it is more about getting your liquids in rather than worrying about protein. Protein comes later probably more feasible during the pureed stage that you are in. For an early stage I bought several flavors of V8 soup, butternut squash, garden broccoli, potato leek which appear to be very smooth (I will also strain). I will add Protein Powder to them to help get my protein during my early stages, when it is puree time, I bought a baby food blender, I am hoping by then the flavor of new things will offset the fact that is blended to mush :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
