I"m So Darn Glad I Went Thru With The Sleeve.

Recommended Posts

It's been a little over 4 months, and I have lost 62 pounds. I'm so happy with the person in the mirror. I hear everyday, look at you, wow. It's a great feeling, being able to do things, like ride a bike, or crossing your legs. I love all the new clothes. I don't regret any of it, and believe me I had some problems in the beginning, but I never got down. I believe, and that is why I'm so happy. I have about 50 more to go, and yes I have the stalls, and I want it all off yesterday, but, I will be happy if I was never to lose another pound, because, I feel great.

I just love love love reading post like these!! I pray to the good Lord that I don't have any problems and feel the way you guys do. I do expect to have SOME problems but I hope no leaks or strictures. I'm trying so hard to think positive and be positive!! My surgery date is 5/21. Please keep posting cause I'm so scared out of my mind! Anxiety is killing me. I still keep going back and forth. :unsure: I don't think it will hit me until I wake up in recovery that I actually did it!

That is absolutely wonderful! I have now gotten to the point that I am happy too. For a while there, it seemed like everything was getting stuck in my chest and I was miserable every time I ate.

I got my date yesterday. It's June 4, 2012. I cried a lot yesterday and was really emotional. I'm scared and excited and I keep thinking its like going down a huge roller coaster( I'm terrified of them). I know once I get on, there's no going back and I know when the ride is over,I will be so relieved and yet proud that I did it,even though I was terrified.

I went to my primary care office today. According to his office I have lost 42 pounds. I am not anemic anymore, my high blood pressure and high cholesterol are now gone. My cholesterol has dropped by 35 points.

@Lisa's hope,

Having the sleeve has changed my life dramatically and so many others... it is scary, but hang in because you will be so happy! I went home after surgery and thought to myself "OMG what did I do!??" It is so incredibly hard the first month out (I was on Clear liquids for a month, and I know that not everyone is told to do that, but I was and was too scared not to follow the docs orders). You will feel crappy and want nothing more than to eat anything. I missed chewing so much I thought I would die! The thing is, it is only a month or two until you can start eating again and then it's all good from there. I am 9 months out and am 5 lbs from goal. I haven't restriced my eating at all and couldn't be happier with my decision to have the surgery. I feel great, look great and haven't been this weight since around high school. I feel so much more energetic and actually want to go out and play with my kids... I'm also actually excited for the pool to open this summer! Good luck to you and if you start to feel down after the surgery, just remember that it's going to get way better!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
