Hi..I am about two week out and I was wondering if anyone is experiencing some of the issues I am. First off, I went through surgery fine and I am even back to work. I try walking everyday and try to get my requirements in. Not so good on the Protein shakes, I am just sick of milk and my Protein grams are not what they should be but I am working on that.

My issues are a constant pain across my back, like my shoulder blades. It feels like I have very poor posture and it is causing me to slouch. It only goes away when I lay down on sit in a recliner. It is very persistant and annoying. Also, I am on pureed foord now and it sometimes I get this horrible pain in the center of my diaphram that almost takes my breath away. Does this mean the pouch is full? I am afraid to take another bite or drink anything for fear of getting sick. Does this happen to any one else???

The pain in your upper back is most likely gas. I too had this. I'm 8 days out. The first 2-4 days I was so sore on the back of my neck and shoulder. It's since gone. The pain in the chest is your eating. I get if if I sip too quickly. I'm not on mushy yet. But if I drink too fast I get that.

I remember many people when I had my surgery stating that the anesthesia caused trapped gas in that are for a while. Have it checked out, though. Good luck

Have it checked out pls. And I'm not doing much on milk drinks... but I love Cytomax clear Protein Drinks. One cytomax drink and a Protein pudding a day is 70g of Protein a day.

Good luck to you. Hope your pain passes soon!

The pain in your back is probably gas. It sometimes takes several weeks to go away. The pain in your diaphragm is probably because your eating/drinking too fast. Also, I felt great for the first 2 weeks, and then suddenly started having sharp pains on the left side of my belly. Found out is was the nerve endings starting to "wake" back up. It went away after about 3 days.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
