Anti Depressants Post Op

Recommended Posts

I've been going through some marriage issues the last 6 months and my Dr prescribed me Zoloft to help. Since then I have had a serious loss of appetite, bathroom problems and my stomach aches and is somewhat painful (more so uncomfortable). Does anybody know about taking anti depressants post op!?!? I've researched through my paperwork gen by my surgeon but haven't found anything. Please help!

I'm on Anti depressants I'm 2 months post op and haven't had any problems on them but I have been on them for a awhile. How long have u been taking them cause they can take a couple of weeks for ur body to adjust to them, if they are really not working for u and making u feel uncomfortably sick I would be going back to the dr to maybe try another brand with different ingredience there are lots on the market I'm on one called Serta and it's great haven't had any side effects at all since day 1.

I was on antidepressants several years ago and yes, changes in appetite are fairly normal. I also flip flopped and went from being an insomniac to having trouble waking up. They switched me from one drug to another and the side effects changed. I was able to eat and able to wake up but had no sex drive. Sometimes you can't win for losing! In any case, give the drug a few months to see how it's working in the long run. If it causes a long term issue talk to your doc about a different option. I had the easiest time when I was on Lexapro and it definitely helped me through a very bad patch (with regular counseling sessions, too).

I've only been on them for 4 days now, I've only been eating 400-900 calories a day. I usually eat around 1100-1200. So far I haven't had any loss of sex drive which is good *thumbs up!* but I'm afraid of becoming a drone! Thank you guys do much for your input!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
