Same here. I've been going over everything twice and washing everything in my house (going to mx for a week) so my husband and 11-year old will be prepared while I'm gone. Worried though... I cheated on my preop diet last night. Had a lean meal but should only be on liquids and Protein Shakes. Hope I didn't sabatage myself! So stressful when your whole family can eat and you can't. Woke up crying about 4am and haven't been able to go back to sleep because of a headache now! I can't fall apart now! Apparently the nervousness has hit me!!! Did I mess up bad??!!

I tried to clean and prep but I haven't had a free minute I wanted to get. Ahead on cleaning but have been just keeping up the last week I so don't want to come home to a mess..... I plan on making a big lasagne and chilli and maybe buying some frozen pizzas for the family before I go in. I have no pre diet I am 5"11 342 going to get the sleeve on Monday i do have to clean out Sunday night. My goal is 150-160. Don't stress. I am hoping to be drugged after surgery as much as possible so I don't notice smells..... That and I am a wuss

Don't stress the liquid diet is made to shrink your liver not to make you lose weight heaps of people lose the weight is because the body is not used to having such a low calorie high intake Protein so it starts to break down some fats on the way plus it's kind of like a detox so make sure when you weigh when you have empty bowels and stomach and probably best when you wake up any ways good luck don't give up your not the first and your not alone.

Best of luck xx

My sleeve date is the 17th. I too am very nervous. I've had 3 c-sections and my gallbladder removed so I just keep telling myself its gonna be okay. I guess another thing that really makes me nervous is the pain and if I will have any complications. I only have to do 2 days of a clear liquid diet....today and tomorrow are my last days with food for a few weeks. I'm fine with this! I've lost 30 lbs since starting my journey and looking forward to start the summer off much healthier :-)

I completely understand. I have had 3 hernia repairs and 1 ovarian cyst removal. I was concerned as well. Like you I am looking forward to a healthier me

I am so glad that I found this site. I am scheduled for the 23rd. I still don't have an arrival time at the hospital so that makes me a little nervous. I had my final appointment with Dr. Billy on this past Tuesday and that is when he wanted me to start a pre op diet. So far so good. I have been filling up on Water and chewing sugar free gum. I hope that I can get a little more weight down so that he can do the spider technique.

thank you all for your support and suggestions. It has been a great help :D

I'm back and alive! Could not post Monday after surgery because I was in pain. I did not do well with the pain medication so I had to go without. Not fun, however today is day 4 and I feel just fine. Trying to learn to sip my liquids.

I'm getting nervous too. My surgery is the 23rd, I have to report to the hospital at 5:30AM for an approximate 7 or 7:30 surgery. I am really hoping to be out of the hospital on the 24th! I have had two weeks of pre-op dieting and I'm ready for the surgery now. I'm on liquids this week with Sunday being clear fluids and no caffeine. Yikes. I've been weaning myself off of soda (diet Coke addict) but have switched from Low Carb Monsters to the ones without carbonation. I really like them but I will have to give that up for now too. Today was my last one. I have all of my post-op meds and liquid Vitamin things. My plan for the weekend is to clean and organize as best I can with a 5 year old. :) I'm super nervous and really just want Monday to get here. I have a feeling this is going to be a long weekend! Best wishes to all! Stacie

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
