Great Conversation And A Question About Follow Up Care...

Recommended Posts

I just had the BEST face time conversation with Dr. Alvarez! What an incredibly nice man! If it wasn't for the fact that I'd have to fly there and then be unable to go back for follow up, I'd totally use him... and how many U.S. surgeons would take time out of their day to facetime a NON-patient??? I am so impressed.

That said, one thing he suggested we all look for in our surgeons, is follow up care and accessibility. He said to make sure you have access to your doctor post-op and that you are sent home with instructions and support. Seems like common sense, but I have seen a few people here comment that they were unable to reach their surgeon or coordinator after surgery.

So my question is for both Aceves and Kelly patients... how do you feel about your post op support and communication?

Can't answer yet. I am within an hour of getting sleeved by Dr. Kelly and so far everything is going fine. I am very happy. He has been very response to my emails in the past so I am assuming the same would hold true post op.

For day-to-day questions I most likely will rely on the these boards for answers to my questions.

I had Dr. Aceves and had no post-op complications. He sent me home with a packet of material to read and follow post-op. I had a question about dizziness at about 6 weeks and emailed his office. I got an answer the same day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
