Was sleeved on Monday, and I've had very little pain. The gas pains being the worst of it.

I've been slowly getting better about my Fluid intake and eating, but only because I'm having to really focus on it. There has been no hunger whatsoever. No desire to eat at all.

That being said, I feel like my brain is not interpreting signals correctly anymore. For instance, when walking around, it took getting shaky and weak for me to realize that I hadn't consumed anything other than Water in more than 14 hours.

This morning, I woke up incredibly irritable. Everything was annoying. Every word said to me made me want to scream obscenities and stab someone with a fork.

Normally, my brain wold be able to figure out that I was hungry, or thirsty, or getting a headache...but it's like all those signals are crossed and I can't tell what's up anymore.

I had a half a cup of pomegranate juice and a cup of water and about 30 minutes later I wasn't so pissy. Was it the right thing? I don't know.

Also, I haven't yet mastered feeling the difference between the last spoonful before its too much and the holycrapthatiscomingbackuprightnow spoonful.

I really hope my brain catches up to the new stomach, cause its making me wanna crawl out of my skin.

Oh, it's definitely a learning experience with our new sleeves. Since you're not getting a hungry signal, perhaps you need to put yourself on a schedule to eat for now. At least every 3 hours, put something small in your sleeve, based on what stage you're at. Also, set a goal to drink so much Water each hour to meet your daily Water requirement. If you plan it out in advance, it will really help you to avoid the anxiety and irritability related to not eating or drinking enough.

Good luck!!

Lissa, that's a great idea! Planning on eating every 3 hours. I can't eat anything for 2 weeks other than some Soup or a Protein Shake but I forget I need something! I love you veteran sleevers!

I am now about 3 1/2 months post op and I still always, always have a glass of Water, crystal light, diet cranberry juice sitting right beside me whether I am at work, sitting watching tv, going for a walk or at the gym. At this stage you need to make sure that you get in your fluids as this can lead to the shaky and lightheaded feelings that you are experience. Also if you are having trouble getting in your Protein try eating, as Lisa said every few hours on a regular basis. I know that I lost all of my stomach hungrer after surgery and I still have to sit down and eat when it is noon since I do not get hungry and if I am working on something I could easily skip the meal entirely. But you have to eat as your body needs nourishment.

It does get easier and you will feel better every week. You brain will catch up with you. You body is going through a great deal of change right now so the crabbiness is nothing unusual. People can even develop mild depression so make sure that you watch for this as this may something that your doctor can help you with if you feel that it is progressing. Your life is changing and so are you. Remember that slow and steady wins the race and tomorrow is another day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
