Who are your doctors and where are you going? I am hoping to find someone else going to Tijuana and seeing Dr. Almanza on the 18th of May.

Hi everyone. My sleeve is scheduled for May 16.

@ ladynana Me too!

OK, week 1 May sleevers- how nervous are you? I'm May 3rd and was more happy and a little jumpy last week, however I woke up this am and I'm getting the jitters.. Second guessing myself-but I know I need to do this for a healthier me..

Tomorrow night I start with the magnisium drink and then Wed night I finish it (bowl flushing). I'm just starting to think what to pack.. Anybody else thinking this?? I'm thinking sweatpants with a very comfortable waistband, I assume I don't need PJ's but maybe I'll pack-I'm trying to remember back 17 years to my last childbirth packed bag :)

Hello everyone! I am scheduled for May 16th! I can't believe how quick it is sneaking up on me! At the beginning it seemed like it would never come because I had all of the appts and it just didn't "feel real" well now I just have my last teaching visit with the PA and NUT on May 7th and then I will be in freak out mode! It's really hitting me now!

Good luck everyone!!

The only person I was sharing this JOURNEY with was my husband-whom has been very supportive and just wants what's best for me (that says a lot since I'm s self pay and having it done in the States so there is a lot we will do without for a while). Anyway, I have 4 kids (mid twenties down to 17) and I was trying not to tell them prior (no need to worry them) but my oldest is already on the scent. Every time I had a NUT meeting she was calling me to "see where I was", she was in my bathroom the other day and saw the pre stat Protein and starting asking me all types of questions.

Once she's on the scent she is very tenacious. My surgery is THURSDAY and my husband is going to drive me, I'm the first in the am so we would have to leave the house by 6:30am- at that point the nosey body will be all over this so we decided he will tell her after my surgery is complete. Then she can come and visit (not b4 or she will end up having a nervous breakdown (I'm not kidding-she has borderline personalitiy disorder with BIG attachment issues).

It's kind of a double edge sword-on one hand I really wanted to keep this very private (and my kids have big mouths) but I guess by allowing our oldest to be in the know will help me keep on my post op diet and it will make it easier for me when I get back home.

I'm in California and having my surgery here.

@ ladynana Me too!

Nervous yet? I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow. I'm worried about it because I haven't been losing weight on my pre-op diet.

Yes. My pre op is May 8 I start my pre op diet liquid diet on Wednesday!

Good luck tomorrow for all that are going in!! My big day next monday the 7th, here in upsate, NY!! SO excited!!!! (then the real work begins)!

I am booked in TJ with Dr. Almanza on May 31st. Anyone else?

Sleeved on May 3rd, got released from the hospital 8pm last night. Feeling better each day-still feel beat up, but better each day. Had a hyadle hernia they had to fix as well so maybe that's making it worse? I have my schedule of 2oz every hour your awake and protien (I'm using prostat 64so I just drink 2oz at a time-15 grams of Protein in those 2 0z). Doing my breathing exercises and I have to inject myself with lovanox 2x a day for next 2 weeks to reduce risk of blood clots.

I was scared to death b4 surgery, showed my husband where everything was the night b4 ( papers, jewlrey etc) but after meeting with the team of doctors I felt much better on the day of surgery. The anasethiologist group was very nice-asked a million questions and made me feel better. I still had that "oh my god I'm alive reaction" along with what did I just do when I woke up-but I'm sure I made the right decision.

I've been up walking around but I feel better laying down trying to sleep. It's strange, like time moves slowly- I look at the clock and it's 1 and I fall asleep- think ove been sleeping for hours but it's only 1:14. Didn't get any sleep in the hospital between buzzers, beeps, alarms etc- very noisy and the nurses come in for vitals every hour.

Im also on pain meds so I hope this makes a little sense-I'll write more later.

Good luck to evyone and remember you will feel better everyday-

Do the lovanox shots hurt? I have been told I have to do those shots and have a prescription for them.

No the shots don't hurt- you grab some fat on the belly area and it's a very thin needle. You put into the fat, push the plunger and that's it. Good luck!!!

I'm not going to lie, the first 2 days isn't fun at all but it does get better by the day after that. I'm still nauseous and in pain but it's 1000 percent better

I am having trouble joining. Hope this works! I am getting sleeved in may.

I am having trouble joining can someone one help me out?

My surgery is just nine days away. I've been buying my protein and vitamins online. Besides my CPAP machine, I haven't really thought of what else to pack for the hospital. Suggestions? Also, there is going to be a birthday party at my house on the 19th, 3 days after my surgery. I'm trying to decide if I should just hide out in my bedroom or stay at a friends house that day. I have no idea how I'll be feeling 3 days post op??
