May 8th, here I come! I had my pre-ops today and also feel like now it's really real! I am excited and hope I don't drive people crazy around me :)

I went and picked up my post op prescriptions today (surgery is this coming Thursday :) ). I couldn't believe how expensive they were. OMG- $848.00 and thats with a script plan. My doctor requires enoxaparin (lovenox) syringes 2x a day for 2 weeks so no blood clots. Does anyone else's doctor require this? I'm a self pay (united health but employer plan doesn't cover WLS at all) and it's already really expensive. I hope there aren't a lot more surprises.

Are you at high risk of blood clots? I have not heard this, mine is giving me heprin to prevent blood clots.

It is the same with medicare for my husband we paid about $50 a syringe.

No I'm not at high risk, this is my doctors standard operating procedure. He has all his patients do this for 2 weeks following surgery to make sure no clot problems. I guess its much better to be safe than sorry. It's really sinking in that this time next week I'll be 2 days post op :)

Happy and scared at the same time. I've been doing all the second guessing myself stuff that I'm sure is normal, just gotta jump in with both feet, like a cold pool...

Same here I will be 2 days post op can hardly wait. I am suppose to do just Clear liquids staring Monday but starting today.

Yay our new life is going to start real soon. :D

Wednesday May 2 for me.........excited!!!! Only 4 more sleeps. :) so ready to have a healthier life.
