Mixed Nuts......uh Oh....

Recommended Posts

I am 9 weeks post op today and for a snack at work I brought a 2oz container of mixed nuts, mostly almonds. I ate about 4 almonds and decided to see if this was an issue. I honestly hadn't really thought much about it and I don't remember my doctor saying anything about nuts. Then again, that was over 2 months ago so who knows.

Anyway, is it bad to have eaten nuts this early? What about whole wheat Pasta? I'm trying to branch out in my diet a little bit but I don't want to hurt my sleeve.

Thanks!

My doctor's go to response for EVERYTHING was "if it hurts, don't do it" lol. I myself was wary about nuts because I was worried about them getting stuck in my healing staple line. You said you were at 9 weeks though so you should be pretty much healed up.

I know when it comes to in general- when you are considered fully "healed" then there isn't anything that is restricted (some docs say no popcorn, coconut, etc... but my surgeon thought that was ridiculous and thought that surgeon probably was most experience with bypass which is so different).

Just looked it up on my old paperwork from surgery. My doc said week 7 seven on nuts and then said almonds are the best Protein wise.

I now I moved on to different food groups a week or so quicker than what he said.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
