Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

M scheduled for my surgery April 26th and I was curious to see who else would be walking in the shoes of April with me. Tell me how you feeling? What's on your mind? Any worries? Second thoughts?

Had my surgery yesterday and it was supposed to be outpatient. The pain wasn't bad, no pain medicine, however I had severe nausea and was throwing up so I had to spend the night... None of the nausea meds helped and I was miserable. Once I got in my room and admitting finally got me in the ststem I was able to get some pain medis which gave me instant relief from the nausea.... And I am home know and so happy to be here :-)

Feel better!!!!! Take it slow.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to post an update. I had my surgery the 16th. I got home from the hospital yesterday evening, so I spent two nights. I was glad that I did. I was in a bit of incision pain and gas pain. I also had quite a bit of nausea. I walked a total of two miles while I was at the hospital. Today, my first full day at home was ok. I walked outside twice and took one nap. I was able to eat two popcicles today and I got down 1/2 of my protein drink in 15ml incriments. My doc told me not to rush things. Slow was better. When I drink more than 15 to 20 ml at a time I get what feels like huge gas bubbles even though I am being careful not to swallow air.

I think age and total amount one needs to lose may have something to do with recovery. I am glad I took two weeks off of work because I can't imagin going back to work this coming Monday. I know that every day things will get better. I also had that "oh no, what the heck did I do to myself" when I saw my first food commercial that was for something I really loved, but then I reminded myself that in time, I should be able to eat anything, within limits and after all, this is all about learning to eat healthy and within limits.

So no regreats, only moving forward, healthing and living a healther life. I will continue to walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip sip as we all move forward.

Great attitude! Keep the healing process going! You can do it!

Glad to hear you are home and recovering. Hope all goes smoothly and you can actually enjoy your time off too.

Was anyone still in pain one week out. My incinsion on my left side is the still very painful!

I still have pain too! When I sit up is when it is the worst! So for now I just prop myself up to where it doesn't hurt or walk around.

My biggest thing is I am exhausted - all the time!!!

I am a week out and finally at the point I can drink without this happening! Still not up to 64 oz of water plus my shakes but definitely making improvements each day!

How horrible! Nausea is the worst! Glad to hear you are doing better!

Just a quick 2 wk update: (im 6'2/F/26yo) Started pre-op diet 3/26 @ 290, had surgery on 4/6 by Garcia.. It's been 2 wks today and I'm 259.6. I'm down a total of 30.4 since starting pre-op and 17.6 since surgery. I'm feeling pretty good, aside from low energy... It's getting better each day tho.

I was sleeved on the 18th. @ 830 in the am. was up walking the halls by 530 i so did not want the gas. I have a great recovery I am still not eating or drinking so much. I have a cup with water in it that is 44 onces i have drank maybe 15 and i have had jell-o and little spagetti sause. I have to learn how to sip i have always used a straw. Good Luck everyone it is a journey that I am happy to be on cannot wait to see the final results. Only hard this is that today is my 10th anniversary and would love to have lobster.

I was sleeved on the 16th. I had pain Monday and Tuesday. It felt like I had done 1,000 crunches. I walked a lot in the hospital and it helped tremendously. I had bad reflux on Tuesday night and was afraid this would be a nightly occurance. Thankfully it has not been back. I walked 1.5 miles Wednesday and Thursday and 3 miles today. I feel great. My scale says I'm down 10 lbs. I'm so excited. Today was the first day of pureed foods so for breakfast I had Muscle Milk Light with 2 tbsp of peanut butter, lunch was a small cottage cheese and refried beans, I had another Muscle Milk Light in the afternoon and for dinner I had a half pureed Purdue Perfect Portion chicken breast and some pureed mashed potatoes and green beans. I got in my water intake and my 80 grams of protein today. I'm so thankful that I've had no complications.

Yes I am still sore a lot. And my incisions itch like hell

Good job on the loss so far!

Lol I forgot about the itching - using neosporin cream to make sure it keeps the itching away so I don't scratch!
