I think if you chew it well, you can. But the problem with the hotdogs or sausages is that they are really high in fat and at this stage it might not be good for your sleeve. But you can try and see for your own. I am 3 months post op and I don't eat any type of sausages or hotdogs yet my NUT only suggested me lean meats, soft chicken, turkey, sirloin, tuna, canned chicken, deli meats etc.

Hotdogs make me sick since surgery - too high in fat and generally too greasy. chicken sausage might be OK but you may want to take it out of the casing and either puree it or chew it very, very well.

I am a month out as well and can eat sausages. I got a spicy turkey link, I was craving spice, and it went down just fine. I did chew it thoroughly and it took about an hour but it was ok.

I tried hot dog and was uncomfortable. I also can't tolerate hamburger patties. As for FF hot dogs, I used to eat them pre-op. unfortunately one got pushed to the back of the fridge and it went unnoticed. By the time I found it- it was a melted pink pile of goo. So gross- now I refuse to bring them into our house. Turkey is a safer bet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
