Bs (Before Surgery) Love The Term & Unhealthy Foods

Recommended Posts

I was talking to my friend today and I couldn't believe how many unhealthy things I ate before surgery. I could never understand why I was fat, I ate salads, drank diet coke, it wasn't like I was eating a whole pizza with a 2 liter soda. KWIm? but I still ate unhealthy things without thinking about it.

What was your most unhealthy food before surgery??

Mine was coffee rolls from dunkin donuts. I absolutely loved those things. Deep fried, and probably 10k calories. I would eat one every other day and sometimes twice a day. I still can't believe I did that.

Oh and Taquitos. I could easily eat 10 with some sour cream for dinner many nights a week.

Hmmmmmm??? There are so many! My favorite binge food is a bag of Ruffles potato chips along with a can of Frito Lay Bean Dip!

You know, for me it was definitely quantity. I never really liked "junk food" though certainly high caloric food. But even when I was making healthy choices, I ate for three!!!! LOL Especially at my age. I was eating as much as my teen aged son!!! Also, I tended to skip meals alot --i.e., not eat all day -- then really eat a lot, very, very fast at night, often a few hours before bedtime. This surgery has really forced me to change all that. I have to eat throughout the day. And because it's not much, I seem to be able to just have those few bites I need to fuel my body. One thing I do notice though is the amount of food people eat!!! It blows my mind!!! and of course, I am so very clear that I was one of those people!!! :-) But it's just weird now to really see the quantities!!! LOL

I agree with mnbsleeve, it was all about quantity for me, but my main culprits were starches! Fries, fries, and more fries with a side of potatoes and bread.< /p>

I was also a quantity eater - sometimes good things, sometimes bad things. I could eat a bag of salt & vinegar potato chips without even thinking about it. I used to LOVE Taco Bell and would gorge myself. I would also drink large sweet teas from McDonalds or McCalister's Deli. I still enjoy some of these things periodically but they are a treat rather than a regular everyday thing like they used to be.

My boyfriend and I were just talking about this. He was reminding me how he used to go out and buy me McDonalds and I would eat 2 cheeseburger, large fry, large coke, and the free cookie for going large LoL and then top it off with a oreo mcflurry. My gawd.

I also loved Dairy Queen moolattes and heath blizzards. Ben and Jerrys pints of ice cream too, I could eat a whole one the heath coffee one.

I could eat a whole bag of BBQ Krunchers in a sitting.

I also loveeeee Reese eggs. I still love them they r my weakness. I could eat like 4 of them before and still be hungry.

My life is so different now. I used to be able to eat a 1/2 box of Cereal in a sitting, now I am lucky to eat more than my 2 yr old daughter LoL. And u know what? Thats fine with me. I love my sleeve, most of the time and I am loving the way I look. My boyfriend compliments me constantly, men stare at my booty, and I even catch women staring at me.

Woohoo rock those sleevies ladies.

First and foremost sweet tea with lemon (im not much of a drinker so i could make it last all day). Also, skipping meals and a quantity eater. And rice was my side for EVERY meal. Was never big on bread but would binge on occasional salt and vinegar chips.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
