3000 Push Up And Sit Ups In February!

Recommended Posts

My YMCA is having a challenge for everyone to commit to doing 3,000 push ups and sit ups in February. I thought it was a great idea so I am sharing it here. You could even take before and after pics and see if there is a difference in your body. I am going to commit to try and do this. I sure do need the toning! LOL

Sounds like a good challenge, I would be up for that. The push ups will be a real challenge for me.

This is a great challenge! I've already committed to my kettlebells and medicine ball for this month, but wowza... about 100 sit ups a day - thats gonna get some results for sure.

I'm trying to figure out if I CAN do 100 sit ups a day. I know I'll be doing wall push-ups and my arms are already going WHOA!! :) Time to step up the game. BTW, I'm starting boot camp on Wednesday, too. Nothing but Protein and Water for 5 days, then strict to sleever rules after that. I'll be following Lil Miss Diva's plan!! :) I have a wedding to perform March 3 and I wanna look spicy for it!! I may not be hot, yet, but I'm getting there!! :)

Love this challenge... the sit ups.. piece of cake...lol... thanks to my boxing training! If there was no fat on my tummy, I would have a fab 6 pack...hahahaa.

Now, the push ups are another matter... do 'lady' ones apply? If so, I'm in...lol! x

With the sit-ups, do crunches count? I started boot camp recently, and have discovered that I possess no abdominal muscles (seriously - none, and no core strength!), so this would be a MASSIVE challenge, but why the hell not - are we going to update on this thread to spur each other on?

hey Cludgie... I've done my sit ups... crunch style! I can do full ones but it pulls my back and bruises on my cox! I did them nice and slow, so plenty of control. I managed 110! Did 115 lady press ups, ones and did it in three sets with my 11yr old son cheering me on...lol! This is a great challenge for me as I can't rely on my groin/back to stay strong enough for me to train properly!!

Wow coops, well done. What do you count as lady push ups??

I'm going to start this in the morning, but from the little bit of abdominal work I've done I know that my c-section has undone something fairly essential which I need to try to re-gain!

Hiya,

Lady push ups are half push ups; either on your knees in a box type shape... or on the knees where you lean forward! I can only do about 10 full push ups... but I am working on that and this challenge will help me. I think any thing that moves and shapes the muscles using resistance is all good... x

I just finished..I am not so sure about the push up part. I may have to work up to that. I would say crunches definitely count. We should keep this going and think of a new challenge each month. I like the motivation!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
