Hubby Has A Question

Recommended Posts

My husband is 7 weeks post op and eating soft foods. He gets a "gurgly" feeling in his sleeve after he eats anything but liquids. He wants to know if this ever goes away or is it just part of living with the sleeve?

Well... I am going on 17 months post op and I still get gurgly. Not sure if this will ever go away, but it seems like it might.

I just asked my surgeon this question yesturday!!! His answer was "it's worse with the bypass patients, so be glad it's not that bad" So my assumption from that statement is yes, it's here to stay. I can tell you that it get's a little better as you go along, mine isn't nearly as loud now. liquids do it to me worse than solids, but it sounds like a drain gurgling to me lol

That's one symptom I haven't had at all. I hope it gets better for him, but maybe he can find a way to make a joke out of it... Something like "Oops, time to refill!" ;) Is he on an acid reducer? That might help a little bit.

Good luck to him!! :)

I'm 6 weeks out and I get that sometimes but not alot.. It happened more earlier in my journey. I have a feeling it will fade as time goes by.. tell him I wish him great success !! We were sleeved almost at the same time.. take care

Mine gurgled incessantly when I laid down, never before or after eating - and THAT passed in a few months. So it sounds like this symptom is all over the board - he'll just have to wait and see if it passes!

You don't have to be sleeved to have it either. I'm not sleeved yet and I have been doing it for 13 years. I have post-surgical dumping syndrome {gallbladder related} and I sound like draining pipes all the time. I've just gotten used to it. It doesn't hurt, so oh well :0/

Is he taking any sort of ppi like protonix or prilosec(don't know if I spelled it right)? I take protonix and it helps me with the reflux.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
