4 Days Out-Lots Of Pain

Recommended Posts

Hey! So i'm only four days out and feeling some major discomfort. I don't want to use Percocet all the time either. I'm trying to get my walking in every few hours...however, it's four in the morning and i'm so uncomfortable! What did you all do for the pain? I was thinking of taking liquid Tylenol just to take the edge off. I'm going to call my surgeon tomorrow and see what he says. How did y'all fare?

most likely a combination of gas, nausea and heartburn? it took me a good 6 days before i started to feel halfway normal, i tried to walk it off, ate ice chips and sugar free popsicles and eventually felt better, hope this helps.

I still use the liquid Percocet at night time so don't feel bad about taking it as that's what they gave it to you for. I would also recommend taking a ppi if you are not already. My pain/discomfort level drastically decreased when I started the prilosec. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!!

I have liquid oxycodone for the majority of my pain, and they prescribed sugar free liquid Tylenol and I was told to layer them (i.e. take a dose of Tylenol a couple of hours after the narcotic) to really help with the pain. So far, that has worked well! I'm also on a PPI. Good luck with finding your solution.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. I've been trying to make sure i get all my Isopure and Water in. I'm walking for a good ten minutes a couple of times a day in my house (it's cold and my mom's being a mom and freaking about my walking outside). My belly is still distended and i hear the gas rumbling inside. Swallowing any liquid hurts and getting applesauce with my meds makes me gag really bad. I'm getting chewable Tylenol to make sureni'm not hitting the Percocet too hard.

I'm trying not to be a Debbie Downer, i know this operation is a good thing. I'm just finding it hard to find the light at the end of this particular tunnel. I hope i look back at this post in a few months and laugh at my despair....in the meantime, wah!!

Hang in there I am three days post op and I am in more pain than I anticipated. I am just taking everything they prescribed and getting plenty of rest. The doctor told me don't feel bad about taking pain meds that's why he prescribed them. Still lots of gas and bloating here.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
