Cake, Fried Chicken And Possible Violence!

Recommended Posts

I should have taken the day off! So..its my birthday today and co-workers, who know I'm pre-op and living on nothing but Protein shakes and lawn clippings, BROUGHT ME CAKE!

To make it worse, my cubicle mate is eating fricken fried chicken! Do you know how good this smells??? AGGHHH...

So I am breathing...drinking some Water...about to mix my lunch shake...and then I plan on walking up to my co-worker and punching her directly in the face. Who fricken microwaves fried chicken and then eats it right in front of a person on a diet? Who also brings that person cake??? She's about the nicest lady you have ever met- it's not sabotage or anything as exciting as that....she's just not thinking....God Bless Her!

I have resisted temptation...but just barely. I keep thinking- small liver...I have to learn to say no...and It's frowned upon to punch people at work. Heading out for a lunch time walk now!

Hang in there! The sacrifice is worth the result- that's what I keep telling myself :wink1:

My birthday was a month before surgery and my husband bought me a donut maker as a gift. I love him, but wow, I wanted to kill him.

Think about your NEXT birthday. You will be 96 pounds smaller! When you want to reach out and choke the chicken right out of your neighbor, try to take a longer view. Nothing smells as good as being ~100 pounds lighter. When they give you cake, tell them "wow, thank you - this looks great - just set it here so I can enjoy looking at it - I'll enjoy it in a few minutes - anticipation will make it taste even better." Then, when everyone is gone, go throw it away. Anticipation is, this time next year, you can have a small taste of birthday cake - you will be celebrating not only your birthday, but getting to (or close to) your goal weight.

Hang in there!

Sharon

You are so strong! Fried chicken is one of my favorite foods, it smells so good. I might have punched her and then stole her chicken!

You'll never regret not eating the cake.

I was in the midst of my pre-op diet on my last birthday. We'd planned to go to one of the Brazilian churrascarias (unlimited meats, mostly steak), but that fell by the wayside when I got my surgery date.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
