Can We Talk About Underwear?

Recommended Posts

This might sound crazy but I can't find any underwear that fits! I have diaper butt no matter what I wear. I was wearing a 22/24 panties from Lane Bryant. I went to Victoria's Secret and bought their all cotton panties in XL but they seem to stretch out a lot, I'm guessing due to the lack of spandex. I even went to Walmart to buy some underwear but I can't determine my size. All of them are sized differently like 5,6,7,8,9, etc. Has anyone found a good quality panty that's working for you? Please let me know what brand to buy and where to find them.

Thanks ladies!

Try Jockey "No Lines" they are sized by your waist or pant size. I think a 16- 18 pant would wear a size 8, extremely comfortable and no baggy anything. They are weightless and the good thing, you can buy one pair at a time. I tried my first pair on Kohl's clearance rack. Good luck.

:) I wear good ole cheapo Walmart undies, I divide my pants size in half then subtract one. I wear a size 26 pant and a size 12 undies.

Hope that helps :)

I love the expensive panties at Kohls but I'm not going to pay the $ for them while I'm losing weight.. I bought the Hanes Her way instead. They are really nice and got 3 pairs for less them 12 bucks.. Pretty comfortable too.. I might just stay with them. I didn't know you could buy panties for such a good price that really look good and feel good!! I bought the sting bikini ones and they have plenty of coverage for my rear end!

I like lane Bryant's cacique undies. They are stretchy and fit snug without being too tight. I'm not sure what I will do when I undergrow their undies!

I like Hanes, Jockey and Joe Boxer brands. I prefer stretchy cotton with maybe a little spandex in them. I prefer bikini or hipsters. If you go to a brand's website, they will explain the sizing for their particular brand. Once I find a kind I like, I usually source it online (I live in the middle of nowhere) and try to find single rather than multi-packs.

I love jockey brand. I am curvy and I like the bikini or hicut best. I guess cause I am heavy in the thighs, they just fit better and are comfortable. They last forever too. I was a size seven for years and then gained all the weight again and was a size 9 but I didnt by jockey when that heavy. I bought Walmart cheap fruit of the loom. They tear up in a few weeks and you have to buy more. The waist band starts raveling. My daughters do it too. Dont buy that brand. they also dont fit right.. too tight in the legs and if you get them big enough there, they bunch in your crack and bag everywhere. Jockeys are worth the money and they are often on sale at JCPenneys. Even if you are still an 8, 7's will fit and you have a longer time to wear them. At my skinniest 130 lbs in college, I like the way the 7's fit. Funny how you can wear a 7 for a range of 45 pounds but its true.

I also got some good ones I like at costco in a mulitpack. they are very strechy like LovePats. I dont know if you remember that brand from back in the day. I have worn mine so much, I wore the brand off of them, so I dont know what it is. hth!

I found the name of the other good ones! It-se-bit-see. I wore a size 8 when I weighed 234 and I still wear them now at 176 and they dont bunch up. They are great too. I got them at costco or Sams club. I think they both sell them. Good luck.

Girl, those are my favorite too! Great fit and they don't ride up. They are expensive though. I only buy them when they have their 5 for $25 sales.

<shrug> I find stretchy to thongs to stay in place best for me. There isn't any fabric to be pulled down or out of place, and I can get them rather inexpensively almost anywhere. Don't knock em until you try em.

Good info, thanks! I'm going to go check them out. ;) And yes, I remember the Love Pats... now why don't they make those anymore???

Thank you all so much for your ideas! I'm going to Kohl's tomorrow to see which brands I can find in my size. If I'm not satisfied I'll keep trying other people's ideas. Can't do Lane Bryant anymore, too big :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
