Had my 4 week post op today. Doing very well, Down 18 lbs since surgery, 38 total!

Thank you, thank you.humble.gif

My Dr ordered an ultrasound of my gall bladder after surgery because he noticed scarring when he was in surgery. Come to find out, I have gall stones. He wants to remove my gall bladder in about 3-4 months. I have never had any symptoms. Now I am worried that with the rapid weight loss that I will start to have symptoms. From what I understand, gall bladder issues are quite common with those who have had WLS.....

Hi, Leslie - congrats on the 38 lbs! Yes, I've also heard that gall bladder issues are very common for WLS patients - luckily for me I had already had my gall bladder removed in 2007. From what I can remember I didn't really have any symptoms prior to my first "attack" - I was just feeling really crappy and thought I had food poisoning. Went to the ER that same day and that's when they discovered I had gall stones and then had my surgery the next week. If it's any consolation, it was a pretty easy surgery and recovery - it should be a breeze compared to VSG!

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
