Just make sure they understand that tomorrow!! Don't let them touch you until everyone on the team knows what procedure you are having.

I agree with PdxMan- make sure before you let them touch you.

I agree, also. If necessary, write on your tummy with a magic marker "Insert Sleeve here please!" :)

Your PCP can write anything he wants, so long as your surgeon knows what procedure you are supposed to have.

Prayers, good wishes and good luck to you for tomorrow!!! :)

jasleeve - hi - you've been waiting for this too long, like others have said, basically make sure whats going on, if theres any kind of mixup, confusion, whatever - you have to postpone. if they are all set for doing a lapband - don't let them touch you. if this delays your surgery, well,,,you'd rather get the right procedure done, and have to wait a bit. hopefully something got goofed up on the paperwork. Make sure you will have the sleeve - make double sure. i will be thinking of you - truly. - can't wait to hear how everything went.

They can't do the lap band if you don't consent to it. Just keep telling them when your being admitted, tell the doc, tell the anesthiologist, scrub nurse, social worker, everyone you come into contact with. It will be fine, no problems since you will be very proactive with getting the sleeve. Good luck and welcome to our club.....Banane55.gif

Once I got to the hospital I was asked probably 10 times..."what procedure are you having done?" and they are all supposed to ask to be SURE they do the right thing. Also, if you are insured, your insurance authorization should have the sleeve listed as the authorized surgery.

A lot of medical professionals and insurances refer to the sleeve and band the same. I know my insurance pays the same for both and the paperwork said band on it. In fact everytime I go back to the surgeon they ask me how my band is. I have to remind them that I have the sleeve.

WOW....my last class my orders said RNY...I was like WTF??? But Im glad I noticed before I signed off on it....I dont think it will effect anything, it should be listed other places in your records that you are having sleeve. I will be thinking of you Chica...on our big day :)

Yep, I second what Lisa said... there will be at LEAST one opportunity when you will be asked to verify who you are and what you are having done. You will be asked to verify who you are, when you were born, and what you're having done so many times it'll get super irritating. You should be fine!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
