46lbs Down And They Didn't Notice?

Recommended Posts

OMG. I have lost 50 lbs and the person I work with kept telling me how good I look and it's the best thing I could have done. I thank him, but my thoughts are "why is that important to you?" I need to own the compliment and move on without the negative thoughts. Alot of people tell me how good I'm looking. My best friend tells me that I shouldn't loose too much more weight. I plan on losing at least 20 more lbs. It is really feeling great to know I have come this close to my goal weight. Yeah...... Everybody enjoy your new bods, you are the ones who count. Take care and Merry Christmas.....

What was a real surprise to me was one of my Aunt's. She talked to me about it before I had the surgery. She had a bypass years ago and the doctor did a terrible job, she suffers every time she eats. They cannot fix what was messed up with her and she is thin, she hasn't gained any weight back so regain has not been a problem. I saw her and her husband and daughter at my other aunts house on Thanksgiving. She didn't say a single word to me about it and was almost acting standoff ish, it made me sad.

My other aunt and uncle on the other hand raved about it. My uncle just kept saying, I can't believe how different you look over and over.

Why do you need approval? You should just fixate yourself on yourself and focus on the foods you eat and learn how to manipulate your bodys genetics. Once you have your bodys nutritional needs and knows what each one does you will be able to get down to the 10% bf ranges. It might just be that I am a guy but I dont care what others think I just see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I find everyones' posts interesting. I personnally hate it when anyone remarks on my weight, whether I gained weight or lost it, but particularly when I lose weight. It makes me very uncomfortable that people are paying that much attention to little (or big) ol' me. I especially hate it when other men, for example a boss, comments.I feel the only one who has a right to comment is the person I share my body with- my husband. So, I think others feel the same way I do. Since I do not want to make others feel uncomfortable,(I don't want people to think I want to intrude into their personal business, so I never comment about someone else's weight. If anything, I will only say, "you look nice today". (I didn't realize by me not commenting, someone would feel hurt or disappointed. I just try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. ) I thought it was bad manners to comment on personal issues, like weight. So I learned something new today!

I feel the same for the most part. I do not like attention like that. Not if I am losing or gaining. You look nice works just fine for me. I have a lot of immature back stabbing women at my job and cringe thinking about after I am sleeved. I have not and will not say a word.

A year or two ago I lost about 40 plus pounds and this gal, who is a big girl became very mean and hateful. Since I have gained it back she is nice again. I truly want to lose to be healthy, tie my shoes, run with my kids, sit on my husband's lap, ect. I dread the attention. I am not shy but it makes me feel very uncomfortable and anxious.

I never say anything about people weight loss or gain. I was raised being told it was rude to bring it up and that has stuck with me.If someone brings it up themselves then I will say something but otherwise I never say a peep. Im sure they noticed and Im sure you look wonderful! 47 pounds is huge, congratulations :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
