Hi Everyone, I am 8 days post op. Started thick liquids yesterday and now I feel like I am out of control. I want to eat everything. I have a list of what to eat but I have no clue of how much. I was real discouraged this morning when I checked my weight and I had not lost anything. Up till today I lost every day 11 lbs in 7days post op. Has anyone had this problem?

I was sleeved on 11/18. I lost 15 pounds with the 2 week pre-op Protein shakes and have lost 5 pounds since the 18th. A couple of days ago I went from drinking my liquids, and getting what I wanted to comsume down with no problem, to now sipping and it taking all day to finish 3 Protein Shakes, 30grams each. I now feel sick if I drink too quickly or too much. From what I've heard, restriction really starts once the liquid phase of post-op is finished.

I'm trying not to focus on what the scale reads because all the research shows that people lose their weight at different rates. It sounds to me like your weight loss has been excellent since your surgery!

Awh, Thank you so much for answering me Veda. I really appreciate the encouragement. I know I should throw the scale out I asked my husband to, but he wants to see my weight lose. I'm going to get rid of it today. You are doing great as long as you keep your awesome attitude. Be Blessed

Hi there, I am 9 days post op and have been on full liquids since the hospital. What you are going through is normal. I get hungry if I don't sip all day. I use myfitnesspal.com and consume about 600-750 calories a day. Do you have Protein and Fluid goals you have to meet? I have to drink a minimum of 71 Protein grams a day and at least 80 grams of fluids. I do meet my protein goals everyday (or else I would be starved), but my fluids hover around 64 ounces.

In regards to weight loss, I don't lose every day. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery (no loss before) and that exceeds my expectations for ONE MONTH, lol, so I'm good! Don't panic. You are doing fine. Consider calling your nutritionist if their guidelines are not clear.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
