I'm where I want to be;-)

Recommended Posts

I made it! I had my surgery on 2/3/11 and actually dropped below my original goal in October. I am maintaining right around 151lbs which is perfect for me.

I made the mistake of buying size 12 clothes when I hit 158 because I wanted to stay there but my body had other ideas. So as I moved into a size10, I bought some more clothes and now I'm between an 8 and a 10 so skirts work best for me right now. I'm going to wait a couple more months and see where I am at the year mark. If I've managed to stay at this weight, then at that time, I will buy some more clothes that fit better.

This is the most fabulous time of my life! I feel fantastic and my nutritional stats are perfect! I recently saw my nutritionist for a check up and everything is great! I donated blood recently and my blood pressure was 100/59 and my Iron was 15!

I've finally posted my before and after pics in the Before and After album so if you get a minute, check them out. I think I look pretty good for a 52 year old grandma;-)

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone who ever posted anything on this forum. I may not have posted much but I read it all and every story helped me on my journey.

I'm so happy to have arrived on the other side;-)

Blessings,

Cheri

Congratulations on reaching goal Cheri! What an awesome achievement! Good luck as you maintain ... let us know how you get on!

I love the idea of waiting to see where your body settles before getting that all important goal wardrobe. That is going to be one fun day of shopping!!

Cheri,

Congrats on goal! Thanks for sharing your pics before and after. You look hot! And thanks for the tip about goal clothes. I'm getting close to goal and have been dreaming about buying some fun clothes. But after reading your post, I think I'm gonna wait a few months to be sure that's where my weight stays and give things time to readjust. A few more months with a minimum wardrobe won't kill me :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
